In the southern UK there have been signs for some time. Trees have been showing signs of stress for months in one or two places and the lack of water has lead to premature leaf fall. An early blackberry crop was copious for a while but latterly has been spoilt by the amount of rain.

Summer was so hot and dry that the leaves started to turn and fall in early August. The best of the blackberries were in early August (normally September) and the apple harvest is well underway. But we have had a good amount of rain in the past seven days, so either summer or autumn may last a bit longer.

The temps have been cooler lately and the evenings feel like fall. I hope it stays.
