Yes, that's true, but they work better as group. One won't cut it, a fox can over power one or sneak past one
The more you have, the better your odds
Then you have that will kill them to.
Like raccoons, minks, opossums, skunks, weasels, coyotes, house dogs that are not trained, birds of prey(like the Hawk, Owl, Eagle), some larger breeds of snakes, and large rats
Here is what we did, till they died from old age. We trained a pair of dogs to live with the livestock. We never lost another animal again due to wild animals again.
We have to train another team of dogs. These dogs never live with humans, they live the farm animals.

Geese can be very aggressive. Problem is their necks are very fragile. Germans did use geese as prison help in WWII. They are that aggressive.
They are better at being alarms, then guards though. For a fox you would need at least six geese. Fox would have trouble with that many.
The fox goes after one, the others will attack. Not like chickens, which are afraid of everything, that doesn't feed them.

Not quite the feathered bodyguard you might hope for! While geese are famously loud and territorial—which can help alert you to danger—they’re not reliable fox deterrents. In fact, foxes are known to prey on geese, especially goslings and eggs. A determined fox won’t be fazed by a goose’s honking or flapping wings.

I've heard of swans drowning things like dogs .

Getting a goose scared this fox but good. Temporarily at least but what have chickens got to do with it?
IloveLucy · 22-25, F
I think a dog would probably do that better
Pinkstarburst · F
@IloveLucy Dogs enjoy chasing and killing chickens. It’s hard to train them to leave the chickens alone.

Canadian geese and take on bears man. They are the true air force.
Turkeys can be just as good for that...
JustEd · 41-45, M
🤔. Possibly. I know donkeys will keep coyotes away
SomeMichGuy · M
@JustEd No, the Donkeys did not keep the predators away this time...
SomeMichGuy · M
Maybe. They can def. scare neighbors away.
TradEmily · 26-30, F
@SomeMichGuy good enough for me
Pinkstarburst · F
It will scare anything away. Those things are terrifying.
Llamas do too.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
Yes. And get a llama to protect your sheep from the same.
