Yes, that's true, but they work better as group. One won't cut it, a fox can over power one or sneak past one

Like raccoons, minks, opossums, skunks, weasels, coyotes, house dogs that are not trained, birds of prey(like the Hawk, Owl, Eagle), some larger breeds of snakes, and large rats
Here is what we did, till they died from old age. We trained a pair of dogs to live with the livestock. We never lost another animal again due to wild animals again.
We have to train another team of dogs. These dogs never live with humans, they live the farm animals.
