This guy was chillin out

I was nervous going by that close to it. I've never been that close. It just watched me walk by but didn't do anything..I wasn't sure if they're aggressive. I just kept talking to it as I went by. Looked it up after, they typically don't attack humans unless you corner them or they feel threatened. Then they are very aggressive, attacking a person's face😯I was actually super nervous going by but This guy was calm as a cucumber

aw...herons are pretty tame....he's probably looking for a fish. it's certain species of geese one needs to be worried about if one gets to close

Herons don't normally even stick around long enough for you to photograph them in my experience. I used to do a lot of narrow boating and could never get a snap.

@PatientlyWaiting25 I was surprised it didn't fly away too! But Bec I had never been that close to one I got so nervous what if it just attacked me, like say geese or turkeys? Luckily it stayed still and just watched me as I walked by lol

@Baybreeze geese and turkeys are vicious. We had a neighbour once who had them to guard his property.

Canada Geese will attack anything - I've seen them attack trucks - that get too close to their nests at hatching time.
