wildbill83 · 41-45, M
thanks for BA
pancakeslam · 41-45, M
@wildbill83 I would actually be more impressed with your plan.
meggie · F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout it's more dangerous now as they let more than the daily quota of people go up
DrWatson · 70-79, M
Nope. I do enjoy climbing relatively "easy " mountains, where you just have to walk along a trail. That can be strenuous enough if the trail gets steep. I have no desire to "graduate" from that level of mountain climbing.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou That name rings a bell. I wonder whether I have climbed it. Where is it?

I have climbed Mt. Washington.
4meAndyou · F
@DrWatson New Hampshire. ☺️
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@4meAndyou I don't remember the name of every mountain I have climbed, but I have a feeling I have climbed that one. I can't imagine why I would recognize the name if I had not.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
Not really. That would be dangerous and boring, except for the view you must get at the top.
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
Would be cool to do. Would pass a lot of dead bodies tho or even join them lol
meggie · F
@deadgerbil that is true. Apoarently they use the dead bodies as markers.
Umile · 41-45, F
Climbing mount everest ?

SMH.

How many times im gonna havearest in between.
SW-User
No thanks, sometimes it’s a struggle to get up the stairs 🤣
I would love to if I could afford it.
It takes quite a bit of money and time training to make the climb.
Then the cost of sherpas and a guide.
Permits alone could run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Insurance for an accident or emergency.
It’s not a cheap endeavor
A guy I went to college with is climbing it right now.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Even gentle rock-climbing and exposed hill walks such as found in parts of England are out for me - no head for heights - but I do admire those who can do it.

Tragically Mt. Everest does attract far too many who can climb but for whom this one is too severe.
Virgo79 · 61-69, M
Ill pass🥶
Not at all.

Beautiful to look at, but it's an ascent with a notorious reputation.
metaldog · 51-55, F
nah I lay in my comfy bed watching people slog their hearts out...and then I dream of puppies
SW-User
No, Firle Beacon is enough for me.
meggie · F
@SW-User i am not far from there. Lovely view.
SW-User
@meggie
And so do I🫣
Scribbles · 36-40, F
No. It always looked dreadfully cold. Not my idea of a good climb.
fun4us2b · M
Heck no, I hate, hate cold weather....
scorpiolovedeep · 51-55, M
It is already full of junk left by mountaineers.
Let us keep nature clean.
StyleCat · M
No, it's too cold and doesn't have any stairs
SW-User
No thanks, I’ll watch 4K videos on YouTube about it
Teslin · M
Mt. Washington, yes
Everest, noooo.
meggie · F
@Lostpoet it is very costly to do so. Not many can afford it.
Lostpoet · M
@meggie And it's cold and even the best most experienced climbers sometimes die.
meggie · F
@Lostpoet it's best it stays as a dream
Raaii · 22-25, F
at this point it's more about money than skills
And the risks are comparatively less so anyone here with sufficient money and a fit body can give a try
4meAndyou · F
Not me! The ex's boss climbed Everest though, and gave the ex a photo of himself at the top, which the ex brought home and put on the fridge for a while.
likesnatural · 70-79, M
Not me. I read a book years ago about a man that did. Climbing over dead people, trash everywhere, and total disregard for humanity. I'm not interested.
Torsten · 36-40, M
no, i dont see anything special about it when its such a common thing now for people to go climbing it
Yes , but dream it will stay as i do t like the cold climates :p
I really don’t plan on killing myself but if I do, I dont want to do it in -40 degree weather.
SW-User
I used to, quite a lot!

Too much litter and too many corpses.

"I know! Lets climb a really high and trashed cemetary!"
smiler2012 · 61-69
@meggie 🤔not esecially as i hate heights lol
SkeetSkeet · 100+, F
These people have time to climb past dead bodies but don't give af about bring them back down
SW-User
@SkeetSkeet How much good would it do them? 🤷
Umile · 41-45, F
@SkeetSkeet good point
@SkeetSkeet It’s hard enough ascending and descending on your own. Carrying a corpse is completely impractical no matter how much one might care
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
That would be a hard NO! It is far to cold and I am not remotely in shape for anything like that.
