No I wouldn’t. I climbed up an extension ladder that was leaned up against the 2-story farmhouse where I lived when I was 2 years old and got up on the steep roof behind my uncle, who was patching the roof & hammering away. Told him to be careful and not fall. He said his blood felt like it turned to ice, he had to scoot down carefully and get his arm around me and balance and maneuver back down that ladder. I don’t know what he said to me when he got me in the house but I had a phobia of heights and climbing ladders till I was nearly grown. Looking at that photo there’s a possibility that the rock ledge could give way, it has happened before to others.
@cherokeepatti Children notice facial expression and tone of voice, maybe his stifled panic left an impression.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@UnderLockDown He was a gentle man around children and I scared the crap
Out of him when I got up behind him on the roof.
@cherokeepatti I bet! That would terrifying.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I get nervous watching movies when people are looking down from skyscrapers to the ground
tindrummer · M
like this? that's my tent
CestManan · 46-50, F
Not a snowball's chance in hell.

I think I have whatever phobia makes it hard to even look at that photo.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@CestManan There is a thing called high places phenomenon.
Something tells the body to jump. 😮
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@Gusman I have that. I have never walked up to the edge of any height without the thought that says, " what if you just keep walking off the edge".
When I was little I thought I was crazy but have since found that its very common.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@REMsleep Very common but it can be overcome by the simple fact of being aware of the phenomenon.
Zeusdelight · 61-69, M
Not over that drop unless I had a geologist's knowledge of the rock type and stability.

But I have looked over cliffs larger than 1000 feet and been mesmerized :)
Look yes. Prolly from on my belly tho..
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
This is the Nerve test on the hike to the Pinnacle, halls Gap, The Grampians. I did this when I was a kid. I don't recall exactly how high it was and you cannot appreciate it from this video, but it is definitely high.

CestManan · 46-50, F
@Thevy29 I would not want to walk that if it were more than three feet off the ground, let alone however high that is. I would be so nervous I would puke.
Fluffybull · F
@Gusman I've sort of felt that. I avoid looking over barriers in muti-storey car parks for example coz theres something drawing me to the edge 😱
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Fluffybull Yes, and it is a real thing. High Places Phenomenon.
I remember when I moved into a flat on the 9th floor. When I went outside and looked down, one of my legs actually lifted and was wanting to climb over the balcony.
This happened without a conscious effort from me.
I quickly went inside and it was 3 weeks before I went out on the balcony again.
Fluffybull · F
@Gusman Oh, that's scary!
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I'm scared fertilizerless of heights.
Highskirt · 56-60, M
@uncalled4 me too
Pfuzylogic · M
i have no way of knowing how my body would react i.e. weakening of knees which could prove fatal.
I love heights. My secondary dream job is washing windows hanging off tall buildings.
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
Couldn’t do it, I’m too clumsy and would surly end up tripping and falling to my death.
Only if I'm lying down and know there's no possibility I'll fall off.
You don't want me having an episode there...
Confined · 56-60, M
I have at the grand canyon, and palisades cliff.
SW-User
Yeah, but not standing at the very edge like that
Teslin · M
I would have to belly crawl out there.
PeterJ · 51-55, M
Absolutely yes I would

Would love it! I usually cant see that far without specs. Especially if i look down since thay way my specs would fall off. 😄🤓😳
Ontheroad · M
I have, but it is not my favorite thing to do. Takes me a minute to to carefully edge my way to the edge of the precipice.
You have to remember; it's not the fall that kills you.
It's that sudden stop at the end.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@PhoenixPhail Could be the heart attack before that happens.
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
Unless you're Wile E. Coyote and you're planning on going over that cliff, the answer is a resounding no.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
I've jumped out of airplanes at 20,000 feet so 1,000 is nothing 🤪
CestManan · 46-50, F
@spjennifer My cadence was, "I don't want to be no GD airborne ranger"
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@CestManan I was a USAF PJ so not a Ranger but yeah, we did that one too. 🤪
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
NOT the one in the photo -- but if there were a very secure railing, maybe.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
No way -- besides vertigo setting in, I have the urge to jump and see what it's like to fly.
have done so .. i lived in colorado.. some time it was not what i wanted to see. it just was .

there is no good chocolate covered raisin to do that. i scrolled past the image fast!

Hi, looks like a red shirt from Star Trek
I look over be a great view.
calicuz · 56-60, M
No way, as clumsy as I am I would definitely fall. 🙈
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
@calicuz Same

I would take a deep breath, enjoy the scenery and jump 😊
Teslin · M
Yes, but I would have to crawl out there and be roped in !!
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
Hesitate, do it, get dizzy and barf, then slink back to safety 😅
tindrummer · M
me on Half Dome - the mtn in the background
Auf keinen Fall, ich habe Höhenangst.
gdon39 · 46-50, M
It would be thrilling
No way, I’m terrified of heights.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard meeee too! 😱
REMsleep · 41-45, F
No. I have a small hill behind my second property and when you stand at the top and look out there are hills and mountains as far as the eye can see and even there I become disoriented so no way. You can loose balance or a strong wind.
Now if there was a rail maybe.
CestManan · 46-50, F
@REMsleep A rail and a sturdy harness.
caccoon · 36-40
How is your penis doing
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Not only would I look over the edge, I would figure out how to get a picture that makes it look like I'm falling off it.
@LordShadowfire Mad respect. 😳

A wind gust will really ruin your day, and even without a wind gust, overhangs eventually continue their erosion to the point of structural failure, so anyone would be foolish to stand in that particular spot

Anyone doing it to prove some sort of point would definitely be proving one
