why are so called atheists so intrigued by religion?
It's in their roommate agreement with Satan.
kodiac · 22-25, M
Not to be a smartass but 90% of this post is bashing people who simply don't believe in religion. Wouldn't the Christian way be to love them anyway? This is what gets me about people who really don't practice what they preach.🤷♂️ It's supposed to be about peace and love but there is a lot of hate on both sides
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
I know right? Its not like Christians bore everyone, every chance they get with their invisible man theory. They're quite tight lipped about it actually. It's like you have a better chance of finding bigfoot then finding a Christian who'll preach about their faith...
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
perhaps it's that their existence is so dull and insignificant that they have nothing else better to do than troll? 🤔

Yes I believe there are. Im an aethist but I dont have posts bashing religion. I do defend myself and my beliefs from extremists
AbbeyRhode · F
They are like any activist with a pathetic, desperate need to feel superior to others; vegans, environmentalists, feminists, etc. It's not unlike grade school; they believe these groups are the "cool kids", and their whole identity is wrapped up in their chosen "club". And like any extremists, they bash others over the head with their beliefs, while accusing those who disagree with them of doing it.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
On their defense, atheists have had to put up with 2,000 years of bashing and persecution. One person on this post has even said we are roomates with Satan; don't you expect some kind of backlash?
RocktheHouse · M
@JimboSaturn persecution? Okay, take a look at history my friend. Christians were historically persecuted by non-christians, especially the pagans. If not for Christianity, this country would fall apart. It was Christians who brought the concept of humanitarianism to the world. Nobody was adopting children, no one was feeding the poor, no one even cared about their neighbors' suffering before Christianity. Those are the facts, like them or not.

Atheists hate or loath Christians, I noticed that. I would think they would be neutral and not care whatsoever but no, the hate. 🤷♀️ Oh, well, anger is bad for their health...
InHeaven · F
Ya, shoving it down someones throat is also a sin...@JimboSaturn God doesn’t want it. I run away from Jehovah Witnesses myself... and always have, from day one lol
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
@InHeaven Nor does anyone. Its just bad behavior God or no God

I find both annoying and preachy ...I'll just worship bacon 🥓

I suppose being an atheist is a conscious decision much the same as the conscious decision to be a Christian.
These kind of decisions define you as a person, but some people aren’t happy to get on with their life within their own belief construct. They have to lob ‘truth bombs’ at the other side to prove their stance. It’s not so much fascination as a constant need to reiterate their philosophical standpoint. This happens in all walks of life, it isn’t unique to religion.

It's not. You believe or you don't. It's not a choice. @Mrjingleswilly
Mrjingleswilly · 51-55, M
@Spoiledbrat Thank you for proving my point.
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I dunno.. I’m an atheist, but I find debating about religion to be a futile endeavor, especially on the Internet 🤷🏻♀️
Spoiledbrat · F
That's what I tell my hub about politics. He discusses it with people on yahoo. He gets all worked up. It's pointless. @WhateverWorks
WhateverWorks · 36-40
I used to talk politics/religion with people, get all intense about or we’d agree and pat each other on the back essentially 😆, but at some point I decided if it’s not actually changing anything then it’s not worth giving my limited supply of fncks to lol I think it’s better to walk one’s talk and let your life be the merit of your beliefs @Spoiledbrat

Everyone visiting this site is entitled to offer opinions, most responses are just that. If they stick to the subject and not get personal, I see no harm to getting people to think.
Other than religion, there are subjects that don’t belong in that section. Evolution is a active science, not a belief. Astrology is fortune telling. Not religion or science. Maybe there needs to be a section that’s devoted to magical thinking.
Why is this posted in Nature? Evolution would be a better fit here.

@Slade You find my lack of attention to your attention seeking behaviour upsetting, LOL!!!
gregloa · 61-69, M
Exactly, they act like Bible experts
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@gregloa Many people know only one Scripture verse: "Judge not, lest ye be judged."
black4white · 56-60, M
There are many religious people that go over the top as well... i dont condone any one bashing anyone but just know its out there and all you can do is block those you dont like and move on.
BTW... its not just in the religion realm... its like that in a lot of different categories.

Am thinking they want an entire world devoid of morals and devoid of justice. Survival of the fittest.
Slade · 56-60, M
@cherokeepatti They’d last 5 seconds because they are scared dumb sheep
Spoiledbrat · F
I don't know what is their deal. They need a reason to live I guess.
Slade · 56-60, M
They are not atheists- they are agnostics. They have no faith - they don't truly believe in ANYTHING👎
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
They may call themselves atheists but they are actually antitheists.
damselfly · 100+, F
Could be because religious texts are highly effectively used to control people

There's a certain someone on here (who I blocked because his banality offends me) who never shuts up about not believing in God.
He talks more about God than most priests do ☠️ if that isn't a wasted life, idk what is.

Because they're the minority and it makes them feel marginalized. They would like to increase the atheist population. It just goes to show that Atheism is in fact a proselytizing religion. They spend more time trying to convert Christians than Christians spend trying to convert them.

People here bash all religios in general. I only bash hippie joe
