@Justme264 'Your Song' was on the album 'Elton John' (1970). The single was a hit in the first few weeks of 1971 - the first time most of us had heard of Elton. It was one of his first - and to my mind one of his best. It was one of those songs that I took note of when I first heard it.

@supersnipe you are correct I am sure but I only discovered that album recently and I am so impressed by the live tracks on it... demonstrates how fab those 3 were as musicians.... why did he ever sack the other two later on.....?

Yes He's legendary

I think it was Noel Edmonds who introduced Elton singing this on 'Top of the Pops' with the line 'There's a man here....who can really create an atmosphere'. He nailed it with that comment.

I read once that this song has another verse which Elton never sang. The last verse would have explained what the song was about.

Elton John is only half of a writing partnership. Without words, his tunes wouldn't be so memorable.

A classic

@Justme264 It's about 50 years old and still played on the radio.

I love his music.
I'd have preferred him to be named John Elton though.
