I love his music.
I'd have preferred him to be named John Elton though.

@basilfawlty89 Why? Would you like it if the main character in "Fawlty Towers" was named Fawlty Basil? Lol :)

@basilfawlty89 Atkinson Rowan is funny as well. Lol :)

@basilfawlty89 IIRC he was considering 'Elton Dean'. It was a shrewd move to change his name, though. 'Reginald' had a pre-war ring to it. It made him sound like a cinema organist!

@supersnipe Yet Reggie has a London gangster ring to it, like Ronnie.

@HairbrushDiva The Krays? Born in 1933 - so a 'vintage' name. The 'Reggies' I have come across tended to be of that generation, around my Dad's age, or older.

The organists? I was thinking along the lines of Reginald Dixon, Reginald Foort and (get this) Reginald Goss-Custard - all around in the 1930s.

@supersnipe Reginald Goss-Custard? Was that his real name? Lol :)

@HairbrushDiva Edward Reginald Herbert Goss-Custard. 'Reginald' on the record label.

@supersnipe How many people have "Custard" in their names?
