H, did you know James Arness was Peter Graves' brother (if you are a Mission Impossible fan). Graves didn't want it to look like he was piggybacking of his brother's success
"Binge" watching the classic CBS western "Gunsmoke" (1955 to 1975) isn't necessarily "stupid"; as a 60 year old gentleman-I have enjoyed watching reruns over the years. Incidentally-the above cast picture features Milburn Stone as "Doc"/Ken Curtis as the fiesty, colorful sidekick, deputy sheriff Festus Hagen/and James Arness as the heroic Marshall Matt Diillon. :)
@helenS No-by virtue of having been born in 1965-I was too young to understand the series. I have-though-since turning 13 years of age in 1978-watched reruns of "Gunsmoke." :)
@ChipmunkErnie Indeed. On the radio version-William Conrad played Marshall Dillon; Conrad later played a high priced private detective on the CBS crime drama "Cannon" (1971 to 1976) and co starred in "Jake and the Fat Man" (1987 to the early 1990's). :)
@Thrust "The Invaders" was very much like American 1950's paranoia movies. Instead of having commies everywhere, you've got innocent-looking invaders from outer space, looking like humans (except they had a stiff pinky 😏) and undermining society and the government.
