There was a story, years ago, that Bob Dylan took his stage name from Matt Dillon, not Dylan Thomas lol

@ArtieKat I would assume a stage name too if my real name were "Zimmerman" ๐Ÿ˜

@helenS Another apocryphal story from the early 1970s, when London had an influx of oil-rich arabs: one went into the HMV record store on Oxford Street, browsed the LPs and then asked the assistant: "Leonard Cohen, is he Jewish?". The assistant agreed that he probably was. The arab looked disgusted and said: "I'll take this Bob Dylan album instead!" ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿค—

Quinn Martin, the mega producer who gave un Cannon (as well as The FBI, The Fugitive and countless others) had a real name of Martin Cohen. Like many in those days he anglicized a Jewish name for show business success (ridiculously ironic given that 75-90% of Hollywood has always been Jewish

@Thrust EVERYTHING in the late 1950s/early 1960s had the intro "This is a Quinn Mart'n Production". I loved "77 Sunset Strip" and "Hawaiian Eye"

PS: And I'm talking about in England!

@Thrust Quinn Martin gave us "The Invaders"! God how I love the show!

Roy Thinnes โ€“ what a good-looking man ๐Ÿฅฐ

I still have never seen that although it is on Saturday nights here. I was scolded by my old co workers (at a TV station that oozed with QM Productions) that I didn't know that was a QM. I've never been one for Sci-Fi

QM also had a WWII series 12 o'clock High. That was one of the vehicles that launched Jack Lord

@Thrust "The Invaders" was very much like American 1950's paranoia movies. Instead of having commies everywhere, you've got innocent-looking invaders from outer space, looking like humans (except they had a stiff pinky ๐Ÿ˜) and undermining society and the government.

H, this is the only TV Channel you need - especially during the week!

@Thrust Maybe but I'm still on "Gunsmoke"! ๐Ÿ˜
