what is the next series after doctor who? that series has been around for decades?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@trackboy There's going to be another season. British people call seasons series.
FourthShadow · 31-35, M
@trackboy I meant season. Here in uk series or season means pretty much the same.
trackboy · 26-30, M
@FourthShadow Here in the united States, the end of the series and the end of the season have completely different meanings for TV series. 🍪

Isn't William Hartnell still playing Dr Who? 🤔
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
It was a pretty good season, albeit short. I found the finale rather disappointing; if felt more like something Stephen Moffat would do rather than Russell Davies. Ncuti Gatwa actually reminds me a lot of the early David Tennant episodes, all manic energy.
I have to say I don't care much for the design of the interior of the TARDIS. Other than running around randomly, what can anyone do on all those curving ramps? And there's nowhere to sit. There's never anywhere comfortable to sit on the bridge.
They really kept bringing up Susan, and although that was partially explained, it makes me wish they would finally deal with that dangling thread after, what, 60 years?
I'm also interested in seeing them follow up on the whole Timeless Child thing. That could be fun.
And mostly, I really wish they'd concentrate more on creating original villains rather than just digging up more and more obscure baddies from the original series run. Or worse, bring back the Daleks or Cybermen again. It would be refreshing to see the show go off on its own direction for a while, doing new things.

@DunningKruger Oh, that's right. I don't know. Maybe 15 is the Timeless Child, and 14 is the other timeline now.
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@LordShadowfire I don't know what other timeline you're referring to.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@DunningKruger Originally, the Timeless Child and the Doctor were two separate beings. I forget which Doctor talked about the Timeless Child, but it was always discussed in the third person. Then the Celestial Toymaker came along, and he boasted that he had messed with the Doctor's timeline, as a result of a deal he made with the Master before trapping the Master in his own gold tooth. This would explain why 13 was unearthing memories of having been the Timeless Child, even though previous memories from 10 confirmed that he had a relatively normalish childhood, and was even childhood friends with the Master.

I've never understood why someone who can travel to any time and anywhere in the infinite universe . . . . but seems to spend 90% of his life(s) in London! 🤔😁
Briggett · T
@afreshstart77 because it’s the doctor
kittee · 22-25

Bluedreamz · 26-30, F
I loved Ncuti and his take on the doctor. I can't wait to see what they get into next!
Havesomefun2 · 56-60, M
@Bluedreamz oh his character is good but I think the story lines are a weak
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
I haven't watched the whole series yet just the first three and I thought they were the three worst episodes of Dr Who ever.
Not a criticism of those performing but of those writing and directing.

bijouxbroussard · F
@Briggett Disney+, I believe.
Briggett · T
@bijouxbroussard well you can’t miss what you never had. That’s so sad
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Well the nice thing about this is they will have another series next year rather than produce 13 episodes and then wait three fucking years for the next batch so I'll take it.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
He makes a good Doctor. I like him. What especially cracks me up is all the people who are angry because they dared to cast a black guy in the role. As if it wasn't established that a timelord could resurrect as any gender, any race, and really any species.
