Why are ao many really good series loaded with sex scenes

It’s because the culture has changed and become more depraved and less wholesome. The goal is to sexualize children. They already have some soft p*rn books, and drag queens in some schools. It’s disgusting. If you want to see change, then you have to stop watching, and let the Woke go broke.

I know what you mean - if you see too people in bed together you don't have to see the bits to know what they are doing

Sex sells. Sometimes they put in a sex scene just to get a R rating because it draws a bigger audience. And you’re right, most of the time it’s not necessary for the story.

I’m no prude by any means, but Hulu has shocked the hell out of me with what they’ve shown during the sex scenes of some of their originals. It’s like the first time I heard “dick” said on television. Had a “Oh. Okay. Didn’t know you could do that” reaction to both.

To me the most interesting question is not why 'sex sells' (I think I understand that) but why our culture conditions us to view it as something to be kept hidden and virtually secret.

The sex act is how we got here. Ma & Pa 'screwed' each other and quite likely enjoyed themselves doing it but we can't talk to them about that, or - God forbid! - see them or others doing the same thing. Until very recently everybody we know was created the same way. It's a very basic part of being human and an almost universal life-affirming drive but we're supposed to keep quiet about it - even consider it obscene? That, I think, is in itself a VERY obscene idea.

And it's the main reason the marketplace can take advantage of so many peoples' semi secret obsession with open depictions of sexuality.

i do mostly rate PG13 and below just for this reason... got tired of fast forwarding or pausing or changing the channel ...AND its just me watching... sad but true.

I see little need for it. Theres soft porn if you want that kinda of thing.
But mainly Hollywood is a soft porn industry

Most would think it’s “really good” because of the sex scenes. But, it’s admittedly hard to watch with a parent, or in my case where I have daughters roughly your age. I couldn’t do that tbh.

I hate that, I will actually stop watching a series if there are too many needless sex scenes. It gets really old.

I believe sex sells because of our society's officially prudish attitude towards it. It sells precisely because we're told it should be kept hidden.

Or else explosions and violence. Little one use to fall asleep in my arms at the explosion scenes in a tv show first few months of their life

To be fair, I’m generally watching a series by myself whether there is or isn’t sex.

It’s because sex sells but honestly I don’t think it’s needed in most shows/movies.

It seems like it's a box on a list that has to be checked off anymore, it's ridiculous ... it's similar to how no one can make a movie without having obligatory scenes of people smoking ... it's like people just aren't creative enough to tell a story without all this extra fluff

It's often unnecessary and just makes the whole thing awkward, I'm not sure why it's normalised to watch people in their beds on TV or movies🤔😂
