I love science fiction 馃А馃寣

I love Space, both the dark place that surrounds our world and the concepts/potential that exists outside our race.

While I'm sure that I won't reach that the Galactic Horizon. I'm always thankful that media like the Mass Effect games and Star Wars/Trek exist just to provide a little escapism from our earthly plane.

I highly recommend the Dune novels by Frank Herbert, they are to Sci-fi what Lord of the Rings is for Fantasy

@AshAnnJen2003 Ahh the David Lynch one with the internal dialogue?? It was shit! 馃槄

@SW-User Really? Did you like the Zendaya one better? I didn't. I admit the whispering internal dialogue was too much, but I thought the old one was a better story.

@AshAnnJen2003 Each to their own :)

I'm something of a Science Fiction buff in my own small way, too. Mostly the "old-school" stuff like Fritz Lang's 1927 film, Metropolis, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Fireball XL5, Doctor Who, Ultraman, Star Trek, Space: 1999, The Star Wars Trilogy (1977-1983) and Battlestar Galactica. (1978-1980)

If you love science fiction, especially space, I think you'll really like this movie (although, you may have already seen it).

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" (1951) was a classic in space and flying saucer movies, and which set a precedent for subsequent flying-saucer movies. The latter, 2008 rendition, wasn't nearly as good (IMO). A great movie with very poignant messages on many levels. The special effects are good even by today's standards. In 1951, it knocked people's eyes out.

If you like Mass Effect I can't stop recommending the Expanse on Amazon Prime Video
@Elessar Neat. I'll have to check that out. My prime video subscription has been gathering dust in recent months since I've not been watching anything. 鈽猴笍

Nice. I love all of those, especially Star Wars. Have you ever played Halo?

If you're into darker space sci-fi, I would recommend Warhammer 40000.
@basilfawlty89 Cool. I'll check it out. I think I've heard about that game. Isn't there a lot of expansions or something.

@JessieAndThisEarthlyPlane Editions, currently they're on the 10th

@JessieAndThisEarthlyPlane huge amount. If you're into the tabletop stuff, be prepared to spend a mint.

If you're more into the video games, Boltgun is great, so is Dawn of War and Space Marine. The latter is a third person shooter, Dawn of War is strategy and Boltgun is classic FPS.

Also I like the hopefulness of sci-fi as well. Like it often shows the better side of humanity working together for large goals.
