I love all of those with the exception of Oklahoma and I don't know Kiss me Kate. Miss Saigon is best when you have a Music hall large enough for the helicopter. I saw Miss Saigon in St. Louis and it did not have the helicopter, had the noise but that was all.

@gdon39 FYI, Kiss Me Kate is about a theater company that is doing a production of Taming of the Shrew and their personal lives parallel the show.

Definitely West Side Story. Also quite liked Phantom or the Opera, Chicago. the little known Hollywood view of Scotland "Brigadoon", South Pacific, the French film "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg" (music by Legrand).
West Side Story (first one) and Cats (my dad loved it), Sound of Music. I was in Carousel in the late 80s - early 90s. No official national tour, just some places performed.

My fav is Fiddler on the Roof though - "If I was a rich man..."

You've included "The Band Wagon",which I've always liked - it's a great movie of its type, and which often gets overlooked.
LaLumieri · 51-55, F
@craig7 It was one of the 1st records I ever heard and I will never forget how I felt when I heard New sun up in the sky . There's just so many amazing Talents There were 7 records that were the staple of my life and my love for music the 1st Was tea for the Tillerman the 2nd Was the king and I with Deborah Kerr and Yul brenner. I was lucky enough to see them on Broadway at the Imperial theater when I was 5 we had orchestra seats and I knew the absolute honor and value of being able to see that performance even at that young age. I'm a classic fan extraordinaire. The 3rd album was mantovani Christmas music The 4th was kiss me Kate, The 5th was the bandwagon, The 6th was Crosby still's nash & young deja vu and the last was the woodstock album. I'd have to say I probably listened to the bandwagon the most .
craig7 · 70-79, M
@LaLumieri I also bought "Tea for the Tillerman",back in the early '70s.

An American Christmas Carole this is a version of the classic Christmas Carole story set in depression era America and stars Henry Winkler as the Scrooge character.
Though I never saw it, as I was too young, I enjoy the score by Percy Faith from KISMET, circa 1953

Mine would have to be The Blues Brothers, followed closely by Fiddler on the Roof!

@TheLordOfHell I should have remembered the Fidder. I actually played it with three others umpteen times at a top restaurant in Co. Donegal.
