@BlueSkyKing Evidence occurs in science without preformed ideas, and in physical reality we err in demanding physical evidence. Apples/oranges. In science we don't know until we know. There is a LOT that is unknown.

Yes.My brother and his family live in an old home that has had a '"presence" in it over the years that they have lived in it

Yes, I do. Simply because they exists.

No. Carbon is in life forms. Even bacteria has carbon. I mean one day we may find a life form without carbon but nothing so far.
I think people who think there are ghosts also think that we have souls. Same deal no carbon equals not living
It would be close to impossible that biology would not have picked up on a non-carbon based life form that large at this point. At least with something as large as a human with 46 chromozones.
As a footnote "believe" is a conviction in something regardless if evidence exists or not for it which prompts the question, why is evidence, or in this case, the abense of,it, not a factor in you believers decision making process? (of ghosts or souls or something incorporal ect)

@robertsnj "Life" is bigger than just corporeal, but if you don't believe, you don't. My metaphysics teach used to tell me "They aren't ready yet".

Nope, wish I did

Is anyone able to clearly define what is a ghost? And how this is known other than anecdotal?
RockinPop54 · M
I believe in God's Holy Spirit.
So I guess all the other ones are kin of a "no-brainer" wouldn't you think?

@RockinPop54 I am irreligious. Bible assertions have zero value to me. But I call myself a multidimensional reincarnationist.

Yepp, but I never claim anything to be one before I've exhausted all the logical explanations.
I do believe there is some kind of energy/vibrational frequency/ things we don’t understand.
rinkydinkydoink · M
Not.
twistedrope · 26-30, M
No. I have never seen evidence so I move on with my life.
GoFish ·
@twistedrope you cant see spirits.. they aren't physical
FlowersNButterflies · 61-69, FVIP
@twistedrope Yet?
twistedrope · 26-30, M
@FlowersNButterflies I wouldn't say yet either. I trust deeply in a persons ability to lie to themselves when things are hard.In my view, spirits and the supernatural are just that lie. A coping mechanism for things a person cannot or moreso will not want to understand.
Living my way, without religion or belief ij supernatural requires that sturdy explanation and willingness to put my foot down where I see a lack of evidence. Or more so, a much simpler alternative explanation that is more verifiable. Which is more often problematic witnesses. Mass Hysteria would be one such example...
I can accept people who are different, but that belief istruly is not for me and I wholy have no doubt on this principle.

Nope. They make for fun stories, but they're just stories.

@ChipmunkErnie And that is the problem. You are first demanding evidence of a type you approve, without recognizing the flaw of your premise. Second, you haven't even looked, clearly, so your opinion is baseless. Research Consciousness. Nobody will do it for you. But because you are like that, no more time will be spent on you.

@FlowersNButterflies No problem at all, I just prefer not to be deluded. Proof does not need my approval, it needs to be actual and provable. "Consciousness"? You mean the repeatedly proven fallibility of human memory and awareness? Keep trying.

I might be frightened by a ghost -- or fascinated -- but wouldn't want to rely on one for anything.
