Film about cars or trains or planes?

Looking for a fun film about cars or trains that's reasonably kid orientated but not a cartoon. Maybe something that has some funny car chases or something? It's for my sons birthday xx

I hope he has a great day and that the kids leave you some cake.

Any of the Herbie films would be OK. I liked the one with Lyndsey Lohan in it - Herbie Fully Loaded

Disney Pixar Cars! Animated but really good

why no cartoons? the Cars movies are enjoyed by adults, myself included.

@PatientlyWaiting25 That sort of activity was part of the diagnosis of childhood schizophrenia before autism was "invented."

@samueltyler2 I'm going to end this conversation now.

Trains, Planes, and Automobiles?

Oops, NOT kid oriented but very funny.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@TexChik he's sixteen but has learning disabilities so probably wouldn't understand a lot of the jokes.

its a mad mad world...october sky...cannonball run...ford versus ferrari...original italian job...2021 version around the world in 80 days has it all
justmeonline · 51-55, M
The Italian Job's a classic. I think there was a remake which I never saw. I agree the Herbie films are probably pretty good, though I've not seen the recent ones myself!

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout The "I'm prairie doggin" movie? 🤣

When i was a kid i loved the Herbie movies, especially Herbie goes banana's, but that was 45 years ago so im not so sure they'll have same appreciation in modern age 😬

My top pick is any of the Love Bug movies — there are six in total, from tge one The Love Bug that came out in the late 60's all the way through to Herbie: Fully Loaded that came out in early 2000's, and they're all G-rated except the last one which is PG, so you really can't go wrong with any of them for a birthday. For a younger kid, Herbie Goes Bananas is a great choice because the main character is a kid, making it very relatable. If your son is a bit older, Herbie: Fully Loaded brings a more modern edge, while The Love Bug is the classic Disney crowd pleaser and the highest rated of the bunch.

And if you want something a little different for a change of pace, Back to the Future movies are a fantastic alternative they are PG though, the DeLorean is essentially the star, and it's got a genuinely fun chase sequence that kids love. But honestly, with a whole shelf of Love Bug films to choose from, you're already sorted. Happy birthday to your son! 🎂

@HumanEarth he did love the back to the future films, especially the third one with the train. He hasn't seen any of the Herbie movies though so might try that.

Anyone say the Cannonball Run Movies, Hooper, the original Gone in 60 Seconds from the 70s, the Junkman,

Final Destination movies? 😅
HikingMan · 56-60, M
Probably too late for the party but Cannonball Run both 1 and 2 are good fun though some of the comedy may be more appropriate for teens.

Chitty chitty bang bang
dukes of hazard
Smokey and the bandit.
IM5688 · 70-79, M
Well, this might be more for teenage and older, (you don't say how old your son is,) but Smokey and The Bandit is a car chase movie from beginning to end, it's funny and entertaining.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@IM5688 he is 16 but has learning difficulties and is emotionally younger. He's just sat through the Dukes of Hazzard movie and enjoyed it though.
IM5688 · 70-79, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 Then he might enjoy Smokey and the Bandit. If you're not familiar with it, it's a chase movie involving a Trans-Am, 18 wheel trucks, and a cop chasing them from Texas to Georgia. It stars, Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jackie Gleason, and Jerry Reed.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@IM5688 it sounds really good. A couple of people have mentioned this to me.
Pretzel · 70-79, M
darn if it didn't have to be kid friendly I would have said "plains trains and automobiles"
