Speaking as a 40+ man

HikingMan · 56-60, M
Sure. Why not?

I’m 56 and I was recently contemplating getting an ear pierced.

These days there are no real wrong ways of self expression
HikingMan · 56-60, M
@Lostpoet 🤔

Not sure how?
Money would be spent. Just on the earring though as I’d probably just do it myself like I did 40 years ago.
Lostpoet · M
@HikingMan Getting the earpierced, cleaning supplies, and the earring itself costs money. And your wife or gf would probably kill you.
HikingMan · 56-60, M
@Lostpoet I’m divorced and answer only to myself these days.
Any woman who would try to restrict my expression would probably not be my true person anyways..
GoFish ·
my husband wore one when i met him.. he's not gay i think

Jonjdw · 51-55, M
@GoFish you (think) he’s not gay? Do you have reason to believe he might be? It can happen that’s why I’m curious.
GoFish ·
@Jonjdw lol idk and yeah i know
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
A ring/hoop: at any age..
Studs: not even before 40, seriously, just no.
DownTheStreet · 56-60, M
Totally gay it’s the law
Lostpoet · M
@DownTheStreet Only if it's pierced on the left ear or so my brother in law said.
Quimliqer · 70-79, MVIP
As long as they’re within reason, why not!!
Fishy · 36-40, F
Depends on the type of earrings tho?
DragonFruit · 70-79, M
Most of the guys I know who have pierced ears are not gay.
I have never had an ear pierced, but I am gay.
Lostpoet · M
@DragonFruit My next door neighbor turned out to be gay and my best friend's brother is gay none of them have earrings.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Their body, their choice.
Lostpoet · M
@Thevy29 Agreed. But still we're the ones that have to look at them.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@Lostpoet A stud or earing is fine. Compared to those big whole-things the kids are wearing now.

(This pic is from amazon, they don't look this nice in real life)
MyNameIsHurl · 46-50, F
Like what kind of earrings and where?
Lostpoet · M
@MyNameIsHurl diamond studded the ears
Munumbis · 46-50, M
Looks goofy at any age.
are they george micheal?..

yes - allowed
no - not allowed.
helsbels · 31-35, F
Personally I wouldn't like to see it.

But if you're the 40 year old man who decides that's a look you want/you think suits you, then go for it (not aimed at 'you' as in @Lostpoet, but a hypothetical 40+ man)!

I have seen plenty of... 'individual' choices and looks on people that I would not be in favour of 😅 But not everyone has to be conventional or the same.
Lostpoet · M
@helsbels I'm not 40+🥺
Nay, I’m not a fan. It looks like he’s trying to be slick and liked. But there are exceptions of course.
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
I don’t know never had any. Don’t have any now. I don’t have any tattoos either. I have no real desire for any of those things, but having hemophilia kind of makes it that I should not get them.
Jonjdw · 51-55, M
@Lostpoet maybe he’s had it for a long time or maybe it was just for a movie role
Lostpoet · M
@Jonjdw I think it was after the Forty days Forty nights movie. I don't think it was for a movie. I think it was a mid life crisis.

@V00dooLovesTheMoon It is different though than when we are teen to early twenties right? Idk maybe it's just me. It just looks weird.
@Lostpoet 🤷‍♀
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Don't really care -- whatever floats their boats.
Iwillwait · M
Doesn't matter to me.
There isn’t anywhere near enough information to come to a conclusion.

To top it off, I could not care less. They are his ears and his earrings and none of my business.

I would, if asked, caution him that some people don’t mind their own business and there may come a job he wants.
To be honest, I wouldn't even spot them unless their ear was pressed against my face. At that point, the earrings are the least of our worries.
Horok · 31-35, M
Honestly I don't have the time to care about what other guys want to be pierced.

Let them do what they want to do.
@BuzzedLightyear always knew you were a hoops girl
BuzzedLightyear · 61-69, M
@V00dooLovesTheMoon I'd jump through them for you. ❤
Akimbo75 · 46-50, F
Literally couldn’t care less. I don’t think any real meaning can be extrapolated by someone’s choice of earrings.
TheHammer · M
I wear a loop and seeing a man wearing an earring has never brought up thoughts of homosexuality.
For you to make that a pertinent factor kinda tells me that it is you struggling with your own homosexuality.
Just saying papi.
Lostpoet · M
@TheHammer Nah, gay rhymes with Yay or Nay.

I'm secure in my sexuality. Which is I touch nobody and nobody touches me.
