Why cartoons these days seems so boring and annoying?

Gones are the day like old school road runner tom and jerry sort like cartoon that have simple but funny to watch which the sole purpose is to entertain.Looking at recent years animation from all major film cooporate likes to include the political correctness theme in all of its animated films, but from what I can tell, doing so not only didn't promote positive thinking in kids' minds, but also imbued them with prejudice and led them to believe they were the victims of this tainted society.

South Park is still good and Paramount + are putting new episodes of Beavis and Butthead. But you're right, nothing beats the classics like Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, Scooby-Doo and Inspector Gadget. The majority of cartoons today are too politically correct and really awful. I gave up watching the Simpsons years ago.

Yes but in those days they didn't have to deal with all the political correctness that we have to deal with now, watch Foghorn Leghorn, he was pretty much the most misogynist prick you'll ever hear 🤪

Those old cartoons were intended more for an adult audience.

@BlueSkyKing classic Looney Tunes director Friz Freleng once said:
" We didn't make those cartoons for kids. And we didn't make them for adults. We made them for ourselves."

Those creative geniuses did whatever they felt was cool, fun and funny. They weren't trying to play to an audience. And they had the leeway to do just that, most of the time.
The result was something special.

@robingoodfellow Well yeah, Looney Tunes is as old as at least the forties. But the point is, they're still making the kind of cartoons you like.
I think the narrative that comedy is dead because of political correctness is completely untrue.

@BohemianBoo I don't know if it's the political correctness angle, I probably wouldn't go that route either. But they're definitely not making cartoons I like. For me it's more of a creativity issue.
I do like Spongebob a lot. But I'm hearing from fans that's going south too.
