Have you ever seen The Trilogy? (The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King.)

Thank God Peter Jackson & his love triangle did this and The Hobbit.

They filmed things in the best way and used the incredible beauty of New Zealand as the source of many fine locations of "Middle Earth".

To have someone love the literature and create movies with a very high degree of fealty to that is a gift to the author, to readers, and to viewers.

Given the difficulty of adapting such a book, I thought they did a great job. It's far from perfect but it's pretty much how I pictured the books

Watched them in one day…the extended cuts. Of course the books are better, but Peter Jackson did great by them.

Yeah I grew up on the books. The movies are great. Fellowship of the Ring always held the most magic for me though.

Overall, very good. Mostly true to the source material. It had a good feel for Tolkien.

I thought it was great. I liked the bit of irony in the side plot involving Denethor. It was sad watching Boromir die

Enjoyable and pretty true to the books. Well, as true as film can be to such lengthy and detailed novels.
