That thing about the last episode of Tom & Jerry ending with them committing suicide is false.

There IS an episode in which the two of them seemingly end their own lives by sitting on the train tracks as the train is coming. It's called "Blue Cat Blues." But it's not the last episode. At least sixty more episodes aired after that. The very next one is Tom and Jerry going to a barbecue.

I didn’t think cartoons had a continuity as a kid. There was a Tom and Jerry cartoon that took place in the French Revolution where Tom is guillotined at the end.

I have seen that episode.

Jerry is talking about how he tried to help Tom. My thought was, "What about the constant fighting? Since when have they been friends?"

If it had been a typical episode, Jerry would have been trying to make things even worse for the already-struggling Tom when he was trying to win over that female cat.
