Do you think you would be able to tell if your child has depression?

I would hope if I had a kid that they would feel comfortable just telling me they were depressed.

Aside from that it is pretty easy to see when you live with someone if you know what to look for, in my opinion. Isolating a ton, neglecting self care, room a mess. They look tired all the time. Depending on the individual you may notice self harm injuries, on forearms or thighs typically. But not all people self injure when depressed.

If you don't live with someone it can be difficult to take notice of.

I think so, because I battle with it myself. I think I would notice those changes in behavior and habits, alongside other signs.

I really hope they never have to deal with it, but if they do someday I hope I would pick up on it immediately

My wife is clinically depressed, so yes I think we would recognize it.

Depression is not limited to any one age group.
I don't think my cats understand depression

Absolutely I would

I don't even know if I have depression. I'm not a shrink.

Hopefully so. Just pay attention to the warning signs or anything unusual

I like to think I would notice the warning signs.
