To anyone with no anxiety issues

Or pretty good self confidence...

How do you tackle your day, or things like interviews, tough decisions, dating etc ? (anything that can possibly be panic inducing)

Do you just say Whatever happens, happens? Or just not worry for little mistakes etc?

I have anxiety but it's usually before the event. When I'm already in the situation, I either wing it somehow or find out I'm prepared for it and it somehow works, on autopilot and dissociated if needed. Like I have the impression I just hear myself saying something but feel like that's not really me and some other part took a lead. If the autopilot doesn't turn on, it's a disaster, the stage fright takes over, I get brain fog, can't focus, speak incoherently, repeat myself..you must know it. I guess everyone witnessed someone with severe performance anxiety at least once in their life.

@CrazyMusicLover That's a HUGE issue for me socially, especially in dating. I get panicked even ahead of time wondering what IF I start to feel brain fog or get very anxious? What if the worst feeling, heart palpitations come? I just can't override these negative toxic worries. So I never accept a date, or even meet up with one of my oldest friends from years ago, for fear I'll get panicked in front of them. I read that that fear is a subtype of Agoraphobia. But your right, everyone has seen SOMEONE get a bit nervous, fumble words etc. it's probably much more in our minds, we are magnifying how we might look. Yet we probably still look ok or fine. Im hoping starting therapy again will help me. Ty for sharing 🩷

@Coralmist It's embarrassing and can confuse people but if you have to, you have to. Anyone who has been in that situation will understand. Some people who never experienced it though might not know what's going on at all.

Lots of repetition I guess. Beta blockers helped me get good at public speaking. I’m confident in my work space. But less confident socially and I don’t really enjoy it except for a select few people. I think I’d be terrible at dating these days. Meds and alcohol would be my answer probably.

There isn't anyone that doesn't have "anxiety issues"

We just all have to find our own healing. It looks different for everyone.

But if I can impart something, we really are social. So however you can make that comfy for yourself, you might find it helpful 💙

I find it easy. Just a couple of simple points to remember. First. All those people who you spend your life worrying about what they think about you. They arent thinking about you at all. They are worried about what you think about them..
Second. You dont have to be perfect or anything near perfect. You just have to be good enough that if you were the only person left on earth, you would be good enough for you.. You are the only one you have to satisfy..😷

Everybody is different
It's a combination of DNA, nature & nurture
So it's hard to say what'll work for you
I just usually don't worry about things i can't control and deal with things as they come
My anxiety is managed thru medication. And long walks in the woods. And Peanut M&Ms. 😀
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@MayorOfCrushtown A medication that is like a daily pill, or only if needed /intermittent? Mmm...yes chocolate is like sweet freedom lol. No pun intended!
@Coralmist the medication (pill), the walks and the M&Ms are all daily. 😃

@Coralmist you don’t eat?
@Nunlover I used to be it is what it is, still somewhat am, I have a very strong will despite a sick body, but still deal with shit that has deeply affected me in life.
(((((HUGS))))) For almost eight years now, since feb 2018, I have had to take a powerful benzodiazapine to deal with my terminal cardiopulmonary issue.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
