@Tumbleweed Does that mean they told you to take them regularly? Because in that case you need to be super careful with that. They can cause severe addiction. In my family, they were always taken only sporadically, when some drama occurred. Although I don't like how my mother has been reaching for them more frequently these past few years, but still, it isn't a regular use. I took one for example when I was almost thrown out of a train and couldn't stop crying long after I was at home and a friend invited me to his birthday party that evening so I wanted to get myself together and look normal. Last time I took one about a year ago to see if my physical problems weren't psychosomatic by any chance.

@CrazyMusicLover he did warn me about them being highly addictive and no, not regularly, juat whenever I feel like I'm getting too wound up.

@Lilymoon I take low dose generic ativan, it works great to keep nasty panic attacks from happening.

@Lilymoon Same, when I had my multiple walk-ins to the ER for alcohol poisoning, they would give me Xanax to help with the anxiety and hypertension, which was alarmingly high and approaching Severe Hypertension at around 170/115 (yikes, right?) at the time of being admitted. They were surprised I haven't had a stroke yet. At that point I didn't care if I had a stroke or keeled over dead.
