Have you ever heard of the Grey Rock Method? Have you ever used it?

It's the way to deal with a narcissist, by being unresponsive to them and showing them that they have no control over you, which will make them lose interest and leave you alone.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Yup I've done that, it works but also depends on the type of narcissist too. They'll try to drag you into drama first but if you can get away to ignore them, they'll eventually move on to other supply victims.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to use it on certain family members. It took me a long time to realize I had to do it cuz it’s necessary for my own mental health.

Never heard that. I’ll research that and use it. Got a couple people in mind…🤔

Never heard of it. But i do believe ive done it before.

Completely unrelated, but my alma mater has a fight song with the lyric, "Ten thousand strong, we march, march along from our home on the gray rock height. Oh the vict'ry is sealed when the team takes the field as we cheer for the red and white."

No, I've not heard that term as a method, but as described it sounds like a good one.
@Piper When you engage with a toxic person, you are adding fuel to the fire. Ignoring them slowly puts the fire out. Although ignoring can be very hard to do if they get personal.

@latinbutterfly I know you are right, yet I still often fail at just ignoring.
@Piper I know what you mean 😕.
Eliminate negativity, absolutely, leave it to nerds to put a label upon freedom, no wonder everything is ass backwards these days.

I do my best to treat people the way I'd want to be treated. I know now that everyone has value, whether I agree with them or not
ArmyOfOne · F
Yup, and my parents haven't bothered me since.
I do this.. I will look up the term
Its also called "Ghosting"
