mental state

I feel like for a year and half now I have been failing a constant struggle to be happy. And it's one thing after another , I am barely keeping my head above it all.

I know the feeling.. keep kicking those legs, you will reach the surface eventually 💪🏼

As long as peace, happiness, success, value or anything else are measured by outside factors, people will continue to feel sad, restless, worried and more.

There will always be a reason not to do what we should, something to worry about, events to anticipate, human events to navigate, reasons to use, reasons to hide. That flow will never cease and timing your wellbeing to its pace is dangerous. The trick is to be calm in the storm, not in matching its pace. We control surprisingly little in this world, but we do have eminent control over our own self-care, emotions and reactions. Protect yourself, exercise your mind and soul and let the flow of the universe move as it knows how to do.

@Graylight Thank you for this, I will keep your advice in mind and try it out when things get hard.

@jrcervin And just remember... Just like the good times never seem to last, neither do the bad times. You've got this.

There are things you do enjoy?
Things that bring a smile.
Go back a couple of years and remember the good times. Those things that you did like doing. Can you recapture those moments?

@Gusman I try, I really do.

@jrcervin If your sadness/depression lasts more than a week at a time then please see your Doctor.
There are medications that do work. They slow the mind down and give you a rest from the constant torment.
Please at least think about it. Maybe ring a help line for advice.
I went through yearts of depression and saw my Doctor. Eventually I was able to put aside the negativity and am free from it now.

@Gusman Thank you so much for your care, I don't come here that often, so I sometimes answer late. Fortunately it's temporarily, it happens 1-2 times a month, and sometimes it get hard to move past it. I did see a profesional once. I felt OK after it but noticed one thing, people that went in and put looked like they had a lot more on their plate, and the list is quite long, so I prefer for them to get the help. I for now can still manage myself.
