What's the difference between a nurse practitioner and a doctor?

I have a np as my primary... and haven’t seen any difference so far. They all use same protocols established by CDC unless you are going for brain surgery then it would matter to me.

A Nurse Practitioner's role is similar to a Physician Assistant, except she is coming from an RN background and as additional training/education whereas a Physician Assistant usually does not. Both have more limited authority than a physician, particularly when it comes to prescribing drugs, and most commonly work under the supervision of an MD.

The doctor makes money from prescribing pharmaceuticals and the nurse practioner doesn’t

@Nelladell Pharmaceutical companies were paying for vacation junkets for high-ranking FDA officials until that got exposed on TV years ago. Probably more subtle with their bribes now.

A doctor is an MD, whereas a nurse practitioner isn't. A PhD perhaps 😏
They don't know everything even tho some are pretty good.
