Career first or loved ones first?

Loved ones should always come first, work is just a 3D system to enslave us.

Loved ones....my career had a couple of fortunate occurrences:
I worked for a company for over 20 years, and my Mother got ill just at the time they went out of business, so I was able to take care of her and spend time with her before she passed.
After I retired, my Mother-in-law fell ill and I was a caregiver for her for a few years before she passed.
The timing worked out very well, and I was glad to be able to be there for both of them when they needed someone to be there.

I should add that while loved ones should be the answer, too many pick career first. I’ve done that before, but have also quit and changed careers for the family.
The greatest wealth is the people around us and how we spend our time. Yes we all need to work to made ends meet but don't sacrifice time with those you care for. Money is nothing compared to time.

What a horrible choice. I would take loved ones. At my age, a job is just a job, I don't define myself by it.

an almost balance - but the loved ones with priority where possible.

you need the job to fund your life - but you fund your life to care for your loved ones.

In hindsight I'd have to say loved ones.

Loved one's first. Career is a means to an end.

Loved ones first in general, though a career or the like is necessary to take care of them.
I'd love to say loved ones. But I have put career first at times and I hate myself for it.
