Like fate? No. It's a matter of luck, having common ground common interests and a common desire to be together

CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
There's no such thing as a person meant for another person. There's just a certain level of compatibility you can build a relationship on. It's about being able to find and identify the most compatible one at the time and the rest depends on what you two can make of it.
swirlie · 31-35, F
@CrazyMusicLover
...in your world, you mean there's no such thing as a person meant for another person, right?
HairbrushDiva · 31-35, F
I am already married to him.
Convivial · 26-30, F
@HairbrushDiva good answer
HairbrushDiva · 31-35, F
@Convivial Of course it is. :) ❤️
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
No. I think some of us are meant to have different people at different times for different lessons.
Jemimapuddleduck · 31-35, F
Yes, his name is Wally but I can't find him..
@Jemimapuddleduck https://www.youtube.com/@whereswa11y
@Jemimapuddleduck Is he in gis own little world? 🤔
Blondily · F
Maybe
I went thru a barrel of monkeys to find the one I finally got!
Jeephikelove · 46-50, F
I think there’s a few we’re more meant to be with over others.
There are many people we could be compatible with.
meggie · F
I don't know but I'm happy with what I've got.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
If it happens, it happens. While I don't go actively searching, I'm not likely to turn a girl down.

So I definitely don't go "hunting" for the one that doesn't want me.

True it doesn't give many experiences, yet I'm more likely to get someone that really wants me.

I'm definitely not picky. It's a girl's choice no matter what.
I think there are many people out there I could be with. I'm not so unique that there can't be other people who think like I do and have the same or similar philosophies. I just haven't found her yet. She's a needle in a haystack.
TexChik · F
Finding the one is difficult with 7 billion souls on the planet, but I believe there are several for each of us that are stimulated by us as we are them. Luck, common sense,and passion have a lot to do with it.
Subsumedpat · 36-40, M
It is more like there are several out there who would be perfect for you and for each out there there are several who would be pwrfect for them but we ate all blind and may or may not find each other.
I think there are some who would be a great match. I feel fortunate to have met one that is a superb match. Others have come close, they fell to the wayside on my journey.
thenormalkindofcrazy · 31-35, M
The idea of a soulmate is nice, but in reality we're just guessing and finding someone that we can tolerate more than most. Even then we often get that wrong.
exexec · 61-69, C
No. I love my wife and she loves me. After all these years together, it is hard to imagine being with anybody else. We could have had the same feeling with another person. Both of us had feelings for other people, and I'm sure we could have enjoyed a good marriage with them. I wouldn't change a thing, however.
Fertilization · 36-40, F
That one person is already married to me😁😁
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Been with the "one" for over 40 years now. What's scary is she's been diagnosed with dementia and I don't know how much longer she'll be "here". If it progresses as it did with her mother, then she'll be here physically for years to come, but slowly fade away mentally until she'll no longer know me or our kid.
Me & question bot 4ever 💜
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
Arranged marriages are equally or more successful than ones based on romance so what does that say?
Uniquesara · 41-45, F
@Tastyfrzz but theirs alot of morphine
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@Uniquesara sounds painful.
We'll be more compatible to some over others, but one, or a soulmate and stuff isn't what I've experienced or believe to experience.
I don't think there is just one person no. I think it's about finding someone we can connect with and are compatible with.
Pretzel · 61-69, M
one person out of the billions?

nah

but I do think you need to be picky about who you choose
Fluffybull · F
No. There are many people with whom one could be happy. This "soul mate" idea is a myth.
Bumbles · 51-55, M
Many more than one. If it were only one the odds would be absurd.
Iwillwait · M
I'm not sure anymore. I'm thinking it's a matter of choice now.
SW-User
The idea is to be with whoever you want.
Sure.. currently on the look out for lucky soul mate #5 🤔

Been with the same one for 11 years.

I dont see why not
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
I do not believe in soulmates.

I do believe we all have different things to offer each other. And it's a real challenge because we don't always get a clear view on what someone offers until we are invested. And even harder because we don't always know what we need.

I'll let Tim Minchin say the rest in song form (starts about 1:45 in but whole video is good)

I just think we are all on our own journeys in life and you have to meet certain people to learn and grow.
