What's the worst way to blow $1,000,000?

Give it to a politician.

@saragoodtimes Doesn’t sound bad to me.
People often have a childish view of "a MILLION DOLLARS!" as being essentially inexhaustible; i.e., more like "a billion dollars"...

With one Ferrari and a house, you could be unable to pay for insurance on the former or taxes on the latter.
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@latinbutterfly @robertsnj A good friends daughter is going through this right now. She got $970,000. Okay, not a full million, but close enough. In a month she is already half way through it.
@Musicman Sad!
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@SomeMichGuy Yep ☹️
KunsanVeteran · 61-69, M
As a political donation to Quad Indicted. Nothing worse than paying the legal fees of that traitor/liar!

@Azlotto Then a week later he is divorced and she has the money. 😂😂😂😂
Azlotto · M
@Musicman Well I never would have seen that coming. 😉
Musicman · 61-69, MVIP
@Azlotto Of course not! I mean it was true love for a week. Lol!!! 😂😂😂😂

Not investing it and living off the interest it generates without ever touching the principal. A measly 5% per year would generate $50,000 investment income each year for life. Wise investments from a financial advisor could easily double that.

This ain't no monkey money!
Ravens80 · 46-50, F
@BizSuitStacy total waste of money
@Ravens80 💯

If you tweeked the question to how do you (as in the poster) spend 1 million the answers could be really down-to-earth. If you are averaging 50k or more a year and you are in the labor force for 20 years or more you made over 1 million dollars in your working life. In that idea how you one could run a broad/loose expense report --of just the bigger expenses we could all give you really boring but personalized answers.

For me my mortgage is my biggest ongoing expense by far. Car is next and then it kinda muddles together from taxes, to health insurance, food, pet care and lagging behind is education (now long ago paid off) I spend less on recreation than probably most people and way less than I spend on pet care. But my hobbies are cheap hobbies / hobby choice can really impact that.
@robertsnj So I was referring mainly to the dumbest ways that you could quickly spend it without realizing it, because as I was telling some other commenters, it's just way too easy.

But I like your response 🤷‍♀️. Very thought provoking.
robertsnj · 56-60, M
@latinbutterfly thanks for grading me on a curve. Ok got it dumb ways----um I live an hour from Atlantic City. I would drive to AC (jersey slang for Atlantic City ) gamble like a high roller and take ship cruises out on the Atlantic every night for however long it would take to blow through 1 million. Maybe I could throw a helicopter ride in at that price point.

Hearing these exact set of words.

1. You have how much?
2. Oh, I love you!

And there it all goes away.

Dollar tree? A bunch of useless crap
Penny · 46-50, F
@th3r0n you know. You can get good stuff at the dollar tree
th3r0n · 41-45, M
@Penny yes if you're getting very little sure, or certain groceries, but nothing from there is quality goods that a person with a million dollars would want to keep right?
Penny · 46-50, F
@th3r0n oh yes true i suppose lol

@JustGoneNow Sadly she isn't that smart. I honestly believe she will loose the house to non payment of taxes.
@Musicman @JustGoneNow It's just too easy. One minute you could be rich, next thing you know it's all gone, like you never even had the money to begin with.
@latinbutterfly we truly never “had” the money at all. Wealth is a transient state and all things pass in time. both good and bad. life is like a mandala, beautiful but always temporary, always passing.
