@bijouxbroussard ive never seen me as being important enough to consider. not that I think everyone is better than me, but I wanted to make sure they knew they mattered, that they counted for something also. petty hook ups dont make much sense to me. imagine if they knew all they were to that person was a pitty case.

@ImplodingVoices The thing is, you matter, too. It wasn’t that I thought I was some kind of princess, but my mother used to tell me, don’t waste time on someone who isn’t right for you, just to have a guy. I saw it happen among my friends, guys using them, and then guilting them into sticking around. Now some girls do choose badly, and I won’t deny that fact. But I found that the accusation "you women don’t like nice guys" rarely comes from guys who are actually nice.

@ImplodingVoices Not sure who or how many people left you feeling this way, but you are definitely worth more. Plenty of people in this world will attempt to use you for something. My best advice is to show things down when trying to form relationships. The people who want just that one thing will lack in patience and it will give you time to see how they treat you over a longer duration. It's a lot of work for people to be fake, and they generally show cracks pretty early if watching for them.

I've never in the way I feel you imply. I have learned some friends kept me to only benefit how they needed, and once they were healed, they were no longer to be heard, or seen from. A lesson I could have learned when I was 25 with a specific friend, that I learned when I was 32.

We had a fun high school Chess League with over 53 teams. The 70s concerts had quite a bit of energy then, Aerosmith, Bob Seeger, BOC, Judas Priest and of course Led Zeppelin.
Our city got a real bad name with the bands.

@Pfuzylogic What An amazing time you must have had though!!! I was a baby in the 70s, so much more of an 80s kid. But again, where I lived it as pretty quiet.

I'm glad to say that I never felt used when single. The men I dated were mostly just friends. We had good clean fun going to movies and out to dinner, with nobody using anyone.

I’ve learned that it’s easier to understand the physical aspect of being sexually abused in any point of time (in my case much younger ( early twenties)but the mental/emotional abuse from family or people close to you who keeps getting off on you every single day is inexcusable.
Even knowing you’re a tool for them throwing those mental shit on you and still you can’t react the way you’re supposed to just because…
