How do you keep the memories of a departed loved one alive?

Once or twice a day I walk down to the Hospice were my wife passed away over a year ago. And then I smoke a doobie with her.
It’s kind of like that song – I’ll give you a daisy a day – but with doobies.
Cheers!

My husband passed away from a brain hemorrhage in 2024. I have his photos all over the house, I play his favorite music or songs that make me think of him. I talk out loud to him in the house or car too.

On Valentine's day I took him a bunch of flowers to the crematorium which he'd have told me off for and then I bought and cooked a steak dinner which he'd have loved. These little things make me feel closer to him. Hope you're doing ok under the circumstances X

@PatientlyWaiting25 Yeah I do a lot of that stuff too.
When my wife was passing her biggest fears were me not taking care of my health (not eating proper). And me not keeping track of finances and eventually I would wind up living in the streets. But I eventually learned to do those things so I think she rests knowing I can. Cheers!

@Nanoose I have had to learn finances too. My husband managed all of our money and gave me a budget so it's been quite difficult but I'm getting there. I think he would be proud of me.

@PatientlyWaiting25 Not sure about this but a few months ago I started sorting out the important papers and there were a couple of times I felt her telling me not to throw that piece of paper away. Then I surprised her by getting up and getting elastic bands to put around my piles of envelops. Cheers!

@Nanoose I'm a Christian, I have felt that kind of thing many times ❤
