Going out to the cinema, that sort of thing. Not during my living memory but in the heyday of the 'flicks' before TV, it was more of an occasion.

running errands. i guess maybe people didn't dress their finest for the grocery store but idk if the gen before me shopped in their pjs at my age like i do 💀

I can't think of any examples. I think the dress codes and unspoken rules have simply shifted. I didn't understand them then, I certainly don't understand them now 😅
