@Fertilization The first was in a village church. 1662 Anglican. That happened twice. An elderly congregation. You have have to share pews. I was just polite but will not go again.
The second was Anglocatholic, loads of incense. In the middle they share the peace. You basically shake hands with strangers. Again elderly, this time mainly in their eighties. No one speaks after the service I’ve been going on and off for six years. Still no one recognises me, yet the congregation has shrunk to about forty.
So I ventured to a charismatic Anglican. The congregation is about three hundred. The Christian are very friendly. Yet when I explained how long I’d been a Christian, I was told I had a kiddies faith. This I rebbuted. On another occasion a guy who had been there seven years, asked me what I was doing there!
Strange places Anglican churches.

@peterlee It sounds like you’ve had some disappointing experiences. I can understand why those interactions would leave a negative impression.

@Fertilization Those comments have happened since March this year!
Having moved around England a lot, it it not always like that.
In my late twenties I went to a Baptist Church for three years. Here the love and fellowship was electric. I had just became my first wife’s carer. Doors were always open for me. The love of God poured freely.
In my early twenties I shared a flat with another guy. Here we both worshiped in Assemblies of God. Again the same warmth.
In Spain where I spend several months a year, the welcoming is beyond. Even though I’m not a Catholic. An all age fellowship in a small fishing village.
If you find a Christian community seeped in prayer and Bible based, you are half way there.

Yes, and he invites you too. His blessings are amazing.

A friend of mine...deep in my heart. 🩷
I love Him, I want to know Him and be known by Him.... I consider His words when making decisions, I call to Him when I don't know what to do, and pay attention to what's being said around me especially through His people... I confess to Him my sins and because of Him I repent...I consistantly dwell in His grace rather than my own righteousness, I encourage everyone around me to turn to Him, because I don't want to go to Heaven alone. So um I try!

More like the other way around.
I was born in a Christian family, grew up in church school.
Wherever I go, even at the end of the world, Jesus is following me. 🤷🏼♀

My family are followers of Jesus. I’m unsure of my religion at the moment, but I have not lost my respect of God

@NeddyKelly But surely Jesus saves?
No. I tend to stay away from all that, but nonetheless I've read that interesting book he's in that seems to be all the rage. 🤷🏾♀ It was a pretty good read.

Only what he says, yes wholeheartedly. So much so I’ve had visions/vivid day dreams of his life.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
No. I am not religious although from a lightly Anglican background, and see no reason for me to be religious.
I try to follow his general views, but stay clear of his dad and religious institutions.

@Elessar You're now obligated to make a post about that blocking and then state that you don't really care that he blocked you, you "just think it's funny" and that it means he can't handle you and all that other stuff.

Nah.
Mmiker · 46-50, M
Nah. Not for me.
Pambie · 26-30, F
Nope. I believe we should all find our own path in life, and not expect someone else to "save" us. When you do that you're just being lazy and irresponsible.

no, all religion is a blight upon humanity

Funny how that preposterously circular reasoning works to defend the wriings of HUMANS, isn't it?! @peterlee

@SnickersDOM A penetrating description of The Fall. A mystery so profound, yet expressed in such simple language.

We’re like distant relatives.
We send each other cards on our birthdays, but mainly we don’t bother each other.
