My mom also taught me to never judge a book by its cover in that we never judge anyone based on what they look like on the outside because it’s what they’re like in the inside that is important

When I was young my mother told me
"Not to put anything in the shop window that wasn't for sale"
Very old-fashioned advice and some will disagree with that.
But, I found that it served me well.
Today, I would rephrase it as don't put up any pictures you wouldn't want the whole world to see on the internet or social media.

After dating my girlfriend for a year, I finally got my driver's license and was taking her for our first date alone in the family car. When my father gave me the keys, he said, "Remember, when she is in your car, she is the most important person in the world. Treat her that way." I never forgot that.

My mom always taught me never to engage in gossip or talk about other people if they weren’t there to participate in the conversation

@Jenny1234 Very good advice. My father told me something similar: ”Don’t say anything about someone you wouldn’t be willing to repeat in their presence." It has served me well in school, and on the job.

Not advice just sayings...
My dad:
Everyone has the right to their own opinion👍🏻
My paternal grandmother:
You just have to do the best with what you've got👍🏻
Mom:
You made your bed now lie in it😟
Oh no! lol

As usual, Pop: "You can learn something from everyone you meet—even if it’s only whom to avoid." 😅
