I’m the opposite lol! I’ll happily sign my name to a formal complaint. My suppliers love me for it. I'm sure my suppliers think I'm "delightful" lol As for a form, I get the idea, but the moment it’s not in the customer’s own words, it loses weight. The whole point is that it’s their firsthand account, that’s what gets results. If they can’t be bothered to write it, maybe it’s not worth escalating 🤷♂

You potentially could do a form so you have a record of it. Like a ticket system of sorts.
But most people don’t do well with even a little bit of friction so that could be part of it.

I think they don’t take the time to write the complaint because they don’t want their name to be the cause of corrective action. They don’t want to be the heavy or the rat.
Even if you wrote the complaint out for them, I don’t think most would sign. They want to be anonymous, like here…

Writing a formal letter takes work, and by that time they've calmed down and realized it wasn't as big a deal as they thought.

From my experience, people are often afraid of retaliation, even though there are protections in place to address that.
caccoon · 36-40
@SkeetSkeet absolutely. And even the protections don't feel enough. And they truly aren't, sometimes.
In these cases, it should be okay... But I absolutely know what you're talking about 💙 and I would be extra gentle and careful in those instances.

I tend to complain a lot, but writting it down seems a step too far.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
It's a lot more comfortable to complain than it is to actually do something about it.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@caccoon Like in terms of putting their name to a complaint
caccoon · 36-40
@CountScrofula I don't know, I'm just guessing that might be a reason as I know for me, it has been uncomfortable.
caccoon · 36-40
@CountScrofula but mostly I think it's just that it gets away from them, and then I have to keep dealing with it and them being upset (they're lovely about it, but I want to solve the issue as it is real)
Nope, people love to complain, but want immediate results and are too lazy to remember to put it into writing at a later stage or something..
@AbsolutelyFabulous You nailed it. "I have a complaint, and I want something done about it NOW! I don't want to take the time to write! I. Want. ACTION!!!"
caccoon · 36-40
@onrealityofdreams and I do take action. But the only actions I can take are just a bandaid
@caccoon I don't doubt you take action and take it as quickly as possible. But as you pointed out in order to take it to the next level you need a formal letter.

Maybe they don't know how to write a formal letter
