Toupée or not toupée

One of my friends is balding. Classic thinning of hair on the top. Got three options; shave it all, invest in a toupée or leave it as is. I’m not a fan of the hair piece just never seen a good one. I don’t deny they don’t exist, but not my thing. Wondering what you think

I think if your friend will feel better about himself wearing one then more power to him. They have human hair ones that look very realistic but they are very expensive.
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@SlippingAway Yeah those are expensive

@SlippingAway Good Point. It is all about the Feeling of Confidence. I would send him a glut of Jason Statham movies so he can see the transition and the Bravado that remains.

Hair club for men has great systems, very expensive upkeep but worth it if that's where you're value is.

Has he tried minoxidil with finasteride? it’s a powerful combination to regrow hair and stop hair loss. He should ask a doctor to prescribe it for him. As long as he doesn’t have any prostate issues he should be fine.
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@Younameit No idea what that is but I’ll have him check it out. Thanks

My son is only eleven and frequently brings up how he wants to go bald on top lol We call it the Colin Mochrie. Be proud, or uh, tell your friend to be proud.
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@ScreamingFox Mochrie is a national treasure
Toupées are usually pretty obvious.

It's better to take this in stride, if possible, and be aware some will joke about it.

@SomeMichGuy I try to be a good friend and remind him every now and then 😂

he will get over missing his hair one day...their are laser treatments\products can help stop hair loss.
Let it go and let it shine!

Trim it nicely. Keep the hair on top slightly longer, with a little gradual grading from his side to the top of his head. Then invest in fashionable hats that become part of your style. There are many nice hats for men.

My hair is thinning on top, but thick everywhere else. I'll probably die before going very bald, so I'm just letting it stay like it is.
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@exexec As long as you don’t do the sweep across 😀
exexec · 70-79, C
@SilverF0x Nope. If it's bald, it's bald.

Bald people are fine .. probably a short buzz is good enough.. i saw some toupées online tho that seemed cool. Could try one if you want., look expensive tho
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@YoMomma Yeah the good ones get expensive quick. But what isn’t expensive these days
YoMomma ·
@SilverF0x yeah 😅
JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
I think you just have to accept it. It looks better shorter generally.
@JimboSaturn Yes, but there are ways to give grace and play with style and fashion with a balding head.

Turkey ✈ 😅

Jk, either leave it as it is or shaving. If I were a balding man, I think I'd shave it.
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@CrazyMusicLover What I’d do
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I prefer wigs to toupées.

You're right, it just doesn't look good.

Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
I’d rather be dead than wear a toupée.
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
Shave it off.
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@JackDaniels Embrace it
JackDaniels · 46-50, M
@SilverF0x Agree. Had a friend who had an island in the middle of his bald spot. He just could not let go. 😂😂
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@JackDaniels Yep. Friend is also having a bit of a hard time. Trying various oils to hang on to what’s left
Nick1 · 61-69, M
For men is late 60s and in 70s, most important question is to pee or not to pee. 😁
Banksy83 · 41-45, M
Both of you shave the lot off
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@Banksy83 I will if I get there. Got full head of hair now
Iwillwait · M
No hair piece.

Go natural or shave.
SilverF0x · 46-50, M
@Iwillwait Sounds like a consensus
Are you saying you don't think Donald Rump's pubic hair on top of his head looks nice?
Leave it as-is and buy a few hats. It's you no matter how you dress it up.
The era of wearing a dead cat on your head has passed
