Could you recommend a good Red Wine for Spaghetti Bolognaise?

I've never actually bought wine before. Sometimes I win a bottle at a Quiz Night or raffle at the local Lawn Bowls club.

I’ve enjoyed Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico with pasta. I’ve also used it as the deglazer wine when I make marinara from scratch. It’s a well regarded and well rated Tuscan red that’s very reasonably priced at around $20 a bottle.

Here’s where you can find it on wine.com, which is my go to for keeping my wine rack stocked.

If you're making a hearty tomatoey red meat sauce, red wine is a great addition. A classico chianti or a sangiovese are common choices. If you're making a bolognese with wine, milk, celery, carrots, onions, just a few tomatoes, and seasoned with a little nutmeg, a white wine is preferred .. perhaps a Pinot Grigio.

"For a classic spaghetti bolognese, a medium-bodied red wine with good acidity is a great pairing. Italian wines like Sangiovese, Chianti, or Barbera are excellent choices due to their fruity and earthy notes that complement the rich, savory flavors of the sauce. Other options include Merlot, Pinot Noir, and even some Spanish wines like Graciano, according to The Fabulous Ladies' Wine Society. "

A favorite of mine with Italian food (tomato sauce) is Corte Fiore Appassimento Red Wine

Kataba... undeniably bottom shelf, medium sweetness, made in Poland, goes well with perogies too.

About $3.00 for a twenty-sixer.
