I guess there are many ways, but some people just don’t got that kind of what ever it takes. And I am one of them. You can read about what other people have done to become rich. But it won’t work for everyone
BrandNewMan · M
@Jonjdw You have to be willing to do what it takes

I know by the word choice this is a rant thread but to offer up some ideas:
escape paycheck to paycheck by pursuin employement in areas that have market demand withpositions that are in demand (demand apexing supply).
It is way harder than it sounds when I type it out but it is the answer. You can't expect to be paid well if you in a job market that is flooded, easy to refill positions or for a company with low or decining market demand.
Labor economics is subjegated to the same laws of supply and demand as commodities. Actually if you can come to grips that most HR departments companies see you as a commodity (called human capital in their world ) you are a step ahead of many people.
By contrast horrible ideas are
1) follow your dreams (unless it has a strong market demand)
2) I am an entrepreneur ( 90 percent chance you are not , for the record I am also not)
3) if you build it they will come (they won't unless you built something that has a strong market demand)
4) playing in the gig economy where driving is involved (your car expenses will eat up most of your income)
5) getting a college degree without a plan (like a history degree without a plan to teach) often phrased as just get any degree.

You are a commodity. Therefore, you are either in demand or you are not. Whatever the case, you are still living from paycheck to paycheck.

Antenna TV is still around and going 60 channels strong.
My cellphone and only Internet connection is free with close to unlimited data. Well I do have a 10 per year charge, yet that is pretty close to Free.

It’s the unexpected bills that knock you back, when you have nothing in reserve.
So it’s turn down the heat. Don’t go out, and fend them off the best you can.

80...10...10... Budget to live on 80% of your income. Put 10% in a separate account or jar for emergencies and ONLY emergencies.. And put 10% away in a separate account or jar to save for investing, when there is enough.. I didnt say it was easy. But thats how you do it...😷

@HumanEarth Very few have those options today .. especially in rental housing /apartments
HumanEarth · F
@BrandNewMan I live in 1799 8 bedroom farmhouse with kitchens and outdoor summer kitchen.
Half the house only has electricity, we live so far away from the city it take almost a hour to drive to get there. The best part cellphones don't work here in this area and everyone has CB radios in their homes, vehicles and tractors.

Work, motivation, setting a goal, and then striving to achieve it. It all comes down to elbow grease, both mentally and physically.

Start saving and investing early, and let the power of compounding work it's magic. Of course, one has to stay invested.

Leave the USA and start living like the rest of the world lives, which is a life based on quality of life, not a life that is based on material accumulation of Chinese-made 'stuff'.

I think where Trump's life will start to become unravelled for him is when he's no longer President and there is no longer an iron dome that separates him from the reality of his own life.

@SandWitch Considering his age, his health and that JD Vance is his VP, I fear trump will never face consequences in this life. He will however, live in infamy in history. 😷
