Been rough in bed last couple nights. And not in the fun " more please' way

I go to bed feeling ok. Tired, my days are busy AF. I do spend most days hardly sitting. Running up and down hallways at work. Using the stairs. Maybe its my beloved comfy shoes. They don't have much support but they are as close to feeling barefoot as you can at work I think.

Anyway, I digress. I get in bed at night. The minute my body relaxes my legs start aching until so uncomfortable i have to constantly change positions. From my hips to my ankles
I do take magnesium btw. I also have a B vitamin blend. And potassium is good too

If you’re ever willing to wear different shoes, I swear by ASICS, I have planter fasciitis on both feet and I’m on my feet 8-10 hour shifts and my feet feel pretty good. I only buy the running ones though with the extra Gel insole.

A daily foot and leg massage would do you wonders too. 🤗
@Jeephikelove i truly should wear better shoes. Heydudes are comfy. But not much for support

When my legs get to feeling the way you describe, I use a water foot massage for about 30 minutes. Then just before I get into bed, I rub down my legs with witch hazel or rubbing alcohol. When I lay down, I elevate my feet and legs. This seems to help me a lot.

@Bexsy A good leg muscle massage would help you too, if you know someone who can do massage properly.
@IM5688 ordered one those massage deep tissue massage gun things. Hoping helps

@Bexsy I haven't tried the gun type massages yet. Please let me know how it works for you.

Yep, time to go get some serious shoes... I'd bet a good pair of shoes would solve most of the problem. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!

@Bexsy those look comfortable. Sketchers? Looks like they have good cushioning, plenty of toe room, and good arch support.
@Ontheroad yes, skechers air
Ontheroad · M
@Bexsy I've got a pair of everyday Sketchers and I love them. I hope they do the trick for you. Also, good on you for taking care of number one.

I'd recommend taking some ibuprofen and see if that helps. Also, are you getting enough potassium in your diet? That releases the lactic acid buildup in your muscles from all the physical strain of the day.

If issues persist, talk to your doctor about it.
@Samek yeah, I always end up taking ibuprofen. My potassium is good. It's recently checked. As is magnesium
Because of a medication i do have to supplement that and Vit. B and get reg. Blood work

I go doctor 31st. Will talk to her then

Hope you're better soon
@Lilliesandlight thank you!

I use sketchers. I have never had a single complaint. I like the fact of zero break in. I must have 5 pair? I rotate. Im on my feet all day. My everage day is 12 to14 hours. I love the new slip ins.

I was initially conflicted on whether to use the heart, hug or laughing emoji. I can relate on this. Went with the hug, 'cause when in doubt .. figure best to be gentle/kind first.
RudeBoy1977 · 51-55, M
I have a simple stretching routine that I do before bed that helps reduce leg aches, which makes sleeping easier
Sapio · 51-55, M
If I were you I'd invest in orthotics for feet and take ibuprofen for the pain.
@Sapio good idea
@Bexsy just ordered some shoes that will support my feet. Bye bye comfy shoes
Do you stretch and exercise, walking etc?
@Delightfulydelectablydelicious yes, daily i exercise. I do a variety of planks daily. They stretch me out pretty good
@BexsyJust might be tension related 🤔. Maybe mosey on down to the saloon and ride the mechanical bull 💁‍♂️

Sometimes when you have a lot on your mind might create that problem
Have you heard of 'restless leg syndrome'.

Not saying it is , but maybe?

I only ever got it for a short time when i was on antidepressants and and an anti-inflammatory at the same time. Bit its like, i dunno ....a tightness.
Not a cramp but ... yeah, uncomfortableness but not pain. It gives you the shits enough to kinda make you wanna cry.

Some people claim it akin to a kind of slow torture as it robs you of your sleep.

🤷‍♀️🫤
@OogieBoogie yeah, i have to constantly like flex and stretch and rotate move positions etc. Not pain but so uncomfortable 😕
@Bexsy YEP!
Wow, it really sounds like RLS, i kid you not.
I was forever flexing my leg muscles, pulling my legs up, stretching them out again, shifting position.
And the only relief was while i was doing it.
As soon as i stopped....itd start again.

Drove me nuts .

I dont know how people cope with it every night.😟

You may be dehydrated. Alcohol, caffeine and carbonated drinks dry you out.

Or you may have 'long covid' - which causes micro-blood clots. If so, ashwagandha will slowly cure you.

Not a Dr. But elevating your legs before bedtime could help ?
