Can you think of anything good that has happened to you since the Economical Collapse of USA?

I have learned what is not important in my life and cut from it. I have cut all fast food restaurants and cook every meal at home. Once on a Friday or Saturday eve... I will eat at a family mexican owned restaurant. I have not been in any fast food restaurant in well over 2 years.
I have learned to make sure that I take exceptional care of what I have so I don't have to buy anything more than I have to.
I am learning to be a lot less of a consumer and a lot more of a conservative.
Strangely enough I feel that I might even be doing better financially than I had been before. I hope more people will try these methods. Stop giving the crooks all of your money and stretch your dime.
Remember that there is nothing wrong with boycotting companies who lobby these crooks into our government. Or companies who try to monopolize our spending abilities. Or companies who go woke. I wish I could unsubscribe from Disney plus like a bunch of other people did yesterday but unfortunately I never subscribed in the first place.

Yes. Most of what is good involved helping my neighbors by driving to the semi distant but good food pantry and loading up my car with food for them.

I started doing this because I was a ticked off that the Salvation Army delivers food to my low income neighbors during most of the year, but NOT during November and December. I guess right around the holidays, my low income neighbors are allowed to have a Thanksgiving and a Christmas meal, but they don't get to eat the rest of the two month period. 😡😡😡

Some guys from my church take the bulk of it in their SUV, and I can usually fit two food orders in my car. Since I've started doing this, and talked the guys from my church into helping me, my neighbors have become MUCH friendlier, and a lot of them seem to know my name now.

Not as such. I am grateful every day for my loved ones, a roof over my head, and food to eat. But it's a real struggle to afford the medical supplies and medications for my Mom, since a stroke and a broken back left her bedridden.

Of course. I'm not going to go around moping that life sucks. I still have a job, I'm making money, I can pay my bills, I can go out and do stuff. That's good enough for me, at the moment.

You still have the world’s strongest economy…

What’s this “collapse” bollocks?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Morvoren So America has the worlds strongest economy by borrowing money from foreign countries to make the interest payments on what it borrowed from the same countires last year................. Right!....😷
WhateverWorks · 36-40
@Morvoren It’s more like… the observable decline of prosperity. Houses getting absurdly expensive; cost-of-living versus actual wages gap; blue-collar workforce being under prepared for transitions into technology, lead industry, so shortage of decent, paying jobs; food getting more and more expensive; noticeable gaps on the grocery store, shelves that used to be full; gas getting more and more expensive in a country that’s in full structure is dependent on vehicles to get around; utilities, getting more and more expensive; healthcare getting more and more expensive; increase in homelessness.

There are problems that people are feeling, but we are also a bit pampered. People talk about present issues like it’s the great depression.

@HoraceGreenley and remember the famous phrase too.... "obama did dat too".
eventtemple123 · 22-25, M
I realized what was causing my severe depression and began making progress towards happiness/sanity/normality.
@eventtemple123 Don't give up on that... You can find happiness thru it. You can do anything that you set your mind too. I think we all woke up and 2025 is when we will see progress.

Yes, I worked with a therapist to resolve some childhood trauma and kicked some no good people out of my life.

Collapse........ when did that happen?
So my job won't be there on Monday when I go back? 🤷‍♂️
WhateverWorks · 36-40
With everything going on, I find myself grateful for past life choices and efforts that are fairing pretty well all things considered. I was frugal and strategic before things got tight though.
@WhateverWorks I agree with that... I think that's exactly how I'm getting through it too. Use the best thoughts of my decisions and run with it.
