Nobody is identifying as a snake or an octopus. That's just anti-trans right wing hysteria from the idiots who thought schools were letting kids who identified as cats relieve themselves in litter boxes. None of this actually happened.

The crap about UFOs, the Illuminati, the NWO, and flat earth goes back decades. People believed other stupid crap in the past, like the Satanic Panic in the 80s when everyone thought their kid's daycare was performing diabolical rituals.

Just ignore the nonsense when you can and confront it when you can't. But it is easy to avoid most of the time. Just keep scrolling. Nobody is forcing you to engage with any of this if you don't want to. Personally, I'm more concerned about my vote being counted and fascism being shoved down my throat.

Feeling that you don't belong is a positive sign. We all have to find our own path, time and place. Be strong, stay with it. In the end you can make it your "own".

I’ve seen that simplistic argument ad nauseum until it’s getting difficult to continue to answer politely those who refuse to understand.

Two words that mean two different things have commonly been used interchangeably, such that I didn’t know the difference between them until about 10-20 years ago: sex and gender. [i]Sex[/i] is biological, it refers to what chromosomes and anatomical parts you have. [i]Gender[/i], on the other hand, is your role in society. It is neither necessary that your gender corresponds to your sex, nor that your gender even falls within the male/female binary. Does that mean that gender is not “real”? No, there’s more to human life than sex and biology. People who identify as something other than male or female are as “real” as people who prefer to use their left hand for most tasks.

Misgendering someone the first time is understandable, it’s an honest mistake; however, when someone tells you their gender and you refuse to accept it, you’re being a dick just like if I told you my name was Roger and you insisted on calling me Bob, Sally, or Francis the Talking Mule instead.

I think what you’re experiencing is something I have watched happen over the last decade. So many people have stopped having real life interactions, especially the younger ones and especially the younger males. The whole world is but a screen, I think it’s very interesting that so many of these people that believe wild and crazy ass shit seem to have very little real world experience they want everything fed to them

I'm curious. Do you find that people are like that in "real life"? Because I only see this kinda stuff online. Maybe I don't get around enough, but I don't see a lot of this in my immediate circle of friends and family.

I DO see them get sucked into binary political stuff like Trump, the Covid vaccines, etc, but not ridiculous, childish stuff like this...
