@LeopoldBloom Fascism? Where? Where do you live that you have to worry about fascism being a concern? I can't think of any fascist countries that exist today, although there are plenty of communist dictatorships around (like Trudeau's Canada).

@Bellatrix2083 If you think Canada is "communist," you need a dictionary. Communism is the abolition of private property and the nationalization of business; that's not the case in Canada where any Canadian on SW will tell you that they still have private property and private business up there. Mask mandates aren't "communism" (which is an economic system, like capitalism); they're authoritarian.

Fascism also has a definition. It includes:

Belief that a country has a particular identity (in the U.S., this is white people and Protestant Christianity)
Belief in a past "Golden Age" (in the U.S., either the Revolutionary War Era, the Old West, or the 1950s)
Belief that outside elements have sullied and debased the country, ending the "Golden Age" (in the U.S., the "wrong" immigrants)
Belief that the "real Americans" (white Christians) are oppressed by these outside influences
Belief that the system is broken and only violence can restore to "real Americans" what was lost

This matches the beliefs of most Trump supporters.

@LeopoldBloom I think you're the one who needs a dictionary here, because what you've listed isn't fascism at all, but simple nostalgia for a time when life wasn't as complicated and confusing. Fascism is distinguished by:
1. An over-arching, authoritarian state.
2. Centralised bureaucracy.
3. A single political party.
4. A supreme leader of that party.
5. The promotion and glorification of the military.
6. Close co-operation between the state and large corporations.
It has nothing to do with Christianity, and you just HAD to mention "Trump supporters" of course! 🙄
I'm not American, and don't really care all that much about politics, but I have to admit that Donald Trump was a [b]good[/b] president, and you were fortunate to have him, because the one you have now doesn't even know where he is most of the time.

@Bellatrix2083 Still sounds like Trump and his followers. What you're leaving out is the nationalist element. Every fascist dictatorship in history included a strong promotion of nationalism. Communism has more of a global, "brotherhood of man" perspective. Fascism is "us vs. them."

Christofascism is just a feature of European fascism, as Hitler attempted to appeal to the peoples' Christian sentiments. It could just as easily be Hindu, Muslim, or any other religion. Christianity is dominant in the U.S. so it would be invoked to support an American version of fascism.

The damage Traitor Tot did to this country is incalculable. Fortunately, he stands a good chance of spending the rest of his worthless life in prison.

If you think Joe Biden is senile, congratulations, you've lapped up the Republican Kool-Aid. I am relieved that you don't live here and can't vote, however. So you're entitled to your opinion.

@LeopoldBloom Communism is garbage, and it doesn't work, so even if it [i]does[/i] promote some sort of "brotherhood of man", I still prefer the system we have now. It isn't perfect, but it's the best we've been able to come up with thus far.

@Bellatrix2083 You're brainwashed. I've seen his speeches and he looks just fine. It's Trump who just gave a speech saying Biden will start "World War Two" and that he will be running against Barack Obama. Sounds like the dementia is getting worse.

Biden has appeared to "sniff girls' hair" but when their parents are watching and laughing, that tells me maybe something else is going on other than what your sick mind comes up with. Trump, meanwhile, has talked about how "hot" Ivanka is and how he would be dating her if she wasn't his daughter. He may very well have molested her when she was growing up. Trump has also been accused of sexual assault by over two dozen women, several of whom were minors at the time, and one who just won a court judgment. So you basically support a senile pedophile and convicted sexual assaulter - Donald Trump.

I wouldn't want to live under a communist dictatorship, but you have to give China credit for lifting more people out of poverty in less time than any other country in history. Capitalism is great if you're at the top or close to it, but its history of slavery, genocide, and oppression demonstrates that it's not an ideal system for everyone.

You seem to have lapped up the kind of simplistic jingoism promoted by white nationalist outfits like Prager U, where history is distorted and spoon-fed to people incapable of critical thought.
