I Just Don't Belong in this Century.

I just don't. Everything is weird and creepy, the people are strange. Every day I see what us geeks would call NPC's (non-playable characters), and everyone it seems is hyper-emotional, irrational, and can't even think their way to the end of a simple syllogism.

It never used to be like this. Well, I suppose to [i]some[/i] extent it could be argued that the world has always been batshit crazy, but over the last 15 year or so it's just... I don't know what to say. It's gone completely bonkers. Now, apparently, if you "identify" as a snake or an octopus, well then that's what you ARE. No, reality actually doesn't work that way! Reality doesn't care about what you "feel" is true. It is what it is regardless of that.

And what's all this crap about UFO's, the Illuminati, the NWO, Flat-Earth conspiracy and all that other junk? [b]Seriously?[/b] Do you actually [b]believe[/b] that crap?

No, I didn't sign up for this rubbish. This is not my planet.

I’ve seen that simplistic argument ad nauseum until it’s getting difficult to continue to answer politely those who refuse to understand.

Two words that mean two different things have commonly been used interchangeably, such that I didn’t know the difference between them until about 10-20 years ago: sex and gender. [i]Sex[/i] is biological, it refers to what chromosomes and anatomical parts you have. [i]Gender[/i], on the other hand, is your role in society. It is neither necessary that your gender corresponds to your sex, nor that your gender even falls within the male/female binary. Does that mean that gender is not “real”? No, there’s more to human life than sex and biology. People who identify as something other than male or female are as “real” as people who prefer to use their left hand for most tasks.

Misgendering someone the first time is understandable, it’s an honest mistake; however, when someone tells you their gender and you refuse to accept it, you’re being a dick just like if I told you my name was Roger and you insisted on calling me Bob, Sally, or Francis the Talking Mule instead.
