Does life begin BEFORE conception?

I'm hearing rumblings of banning the morning after pill, which keeps an egg from becoming fertilized.
Elessar · 26-30, M
Not too early however or they'd have to self-accuse themselves of mass murder for any time they j*rked off
CestManan · 46-50, F
@MalteseFalconPunch There is some verse in the bible about how it is better to spill your seed in a wh*re than on the ground. So yeah, apparently a normal bodily function is a sin.

I wonder then if using the restroom is a sin somehow?

@CestManan The law in the OT was that if a family member died with no heir, the brother of the deceased would take the widow to wife and help her have a son so that the property would remain in the family. Women of the time were not allowed to own property. Having a son allowed them to be financially stable and taken care of. Onan's brother died and he took Tamar to wife and had sex with her but instead of giving her his seed as instructed by God, he pulled out and spilled his seed in the dirt, he was punished for not fulfilling the law. Onan felt he would be in a financial advantage if Tamar did not have a son. Search "Sin of Onan" Onan's withdraw is where the church gets ideas that contraception is a sin.

I think you are going to hear all kinds of things from propagandizing media outlets. Why not take a deep breath and let the dust settle and the truth exposed before assuming all that you hear is fact.
TexChik · F
@CountScrofula Oh that’s right, you libs don’t need facts . You like to make up your own narrative supporting BS and call it “ truth” , everything else is conspiracy theories right ? 🙄
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@TexChik I'm not a liberal we've been over this lol

And what conspiracy theory?

Griswold v Connecticut was contraceptive rights.

Lawrence v Texas was sexual rights (sodomy).

Obergefell v Hodges was gay marriage.

What am I missing here?
TexChik · F
@CountScrofula all your shit stirring wont change anything. You will just have to wait and see what the court schedules . But coming up soon are election fraud cases the democrats denied to be heard in open court .
GermanAf · 26-30, M
They should ban the period too! And masturbation. And sex altogether. Just ban humanity honestly.
Yes, it starts the minute you start thinking about having sex 😳. I'm not a doctor but I am a Misogynist. You can always claim 'Immaculate conception'. Anything is possible. 😇

@softspokenman
Yes, it starts the minute you start thinking about having sex

You mean like according to those whack job anti-abortionists, just THINKING about bumping uglies constitutes bringing a life into the world?
@HannibalAteMeOut And the bird of Paradice will deliver it. 🦅
@CestManan Bumping uglies, 🥵

Life does not begin until the kids are grown and moved out of the house.
life begins at first thrust
BlueVeins · 22-25
It's best not to think about it. By some guns and a passport bc things might be about to get spicy.
Thespis · M
Im sure laws banning or at least limiting availability to contraception are next. The evangelical church does not support contraception. As one can remember from hobby lobby refusing to cover the cost in their health insurance. Gay marriage will probably be over thrown as well.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
Consider how much the state legislators passing these laws know about womens' reproductive health.

They are absolutely going to try to ban plan B if not in the laws being passed right now, then in an additional erosion of rights to contraception.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
It depends on how you define life. Technically all cells are alive, including egg and sperm cells. So you can argue that life absolutely begins before conception.

The pro-life argument that life begins at conception has no basis in science. It's just an arbitrary starting point. Some others believe that life doesn't begin until the first heartbeat, the first breath, or the point where the embryo begins taking human features.

There is no conclusive definition from a scientific point of view because the concept what defines a life is tainted by ideological biases.

government = it isn't alive until it's born

also government = lets spend trillions of dollars to find some bacteria on mars and call it "life"... 🤔
They can't define the biological attributes of personhood thus personhood can't be defined as existing at any particular point.
Even a 40 year old my not be a person. You can't base a law on a definition that is undefined.
This is called a philosophical zombie. That is what is a soul and what is the difference in comparison to a person that doesn't have one.
Personhood is entirely a religious topic. And if humans haven't figured it out in 200,000 years then Chad from podunk isn't going to even if they are a scotus.
@canusernamebemyusername We're only here on a trial basis and Heaven is getting overcrowded.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
Nothing is added between conception and birth to suddenly create life, so human life must begin at conception.
Montanaman · M
What's the difference with that and a condom? None as far as I'm concerned.
chrisCA · M
@Montanaman Condoms can break.

I have nothing against the morning after pill as long as the long term health affects of the taker has been taken into consideration.
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
Yes and ectopic pregnancy is just another made up thing by evil women who want to kill babies.
Convivial · 26-30, F
One dam slippery slope to head down...
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
Pretty soon if a guy nuts and it doesn’t fertilize a woman’s egg they are going to ban that too.
@iamonfire696 That'll make target practice school mandatory 🎯Boing!
iamonfire696 · 41-45, F
@softspokenman pretty soon there will be no joy in sex.
I had the idea that the morning after pill does its work after conception
Moxymoxy · F
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP No. The morning after pill stops fertilization of the egg.
@Moxymoxy then it makes sense that there are a lot of misunderstandings because when I Google for it all I find is a lot of hits saying it prevents implantation
SW-User
It begins when you're 40😁
CestManan · 46-50, F
@SW-User Yeah, that is about the time the kids are raised and HOPEfully out of the house. See my response somewhere on this thread.
