Genuine question for the lgbt community.

I dont believe any of the stereotypes but does it ever get annoying to see someone basically acting exactly like them?

(Soz if this is incensitive i dont mean it negatively)

I hate it when people do that stuff.

Like yes, I am proud. I've marched in a couple parades now its amazing... but mostly I want to be seen as a "normal" boy.. I dont act like overly tough or have to play all the sports, or any of that stuff.. I'm just a normal boy and want to be seen that way.

I hate that there are people who hate me...because someone else was acting weird at them.
It can be annoying when people make their queerness into their whole personally, but TBH, I've only seen people do that online. I never actually met someone like that.

Tbh whenever im out with my gf everyone just assumes we're mates.
Were not openly affectionate like that nor do we wear our sexuality on our sleeves.
We dont hide it. We just feel the need to use it as a conversation starter or thats it primary to our personalities
Even work mates assumed i was straight until one time i mentioned what i did at the weekend with my gf
People do use it as a this is me limp hand kinda thing though

I mean I think the flamboyant little twinks can be great. But in small doses. One of the few tropes I'm able to draw at least some amount of entertainment from. But sometimes it can be a detriment to the community. Those same twinks are a lot of the reason people have a hard time taking us seriously. Still, I take my joy from watching them be them.

Whether in or outside lgbtq you'll meet people who act similar to you because besides your DNA it's humanly impossible to be completely unique. There's several thousand people in the world looking like you, talking like you, moving like you.

nah, though it bothers me when people try to label me. people often assume i'm trans because i look feminine

I don't think I've yet seen that.

In reality, a tiny minority fit the stereotype.
Most gay people I've known you wouldn't know they were gay unless they told you.
The stereotypes do exist, and many more than you will ever know.
