Is it ok that I want to wear a dress most days?

I was bullied at my lower school aged about 6 or 7 and one of the ways I used to find comfort and feel safe was when I used to go round to my friends house after school and play dress up where I used to wear her princess dresses mainly. The problem is now that I feel like doing it again. I have had some therapy and that seemed to help but my urges are getting stronger again. Is this normal or should I seek further help. Thank you
who are you hurting when you dress up, I think you need to be who you are ! If you feel like a princess then be a princess!!

It's normal, don't fight it or you are going to have more issues than by enjoying yourself and wearing a pretty princess style 👗 dress
@cd4259 Well..............................not exactly "normal".
cd4259 · 61-69, M
@MaBalzEsHari if you look back through history men have worn dresses and tights, skirts etc. Besides it is only society who decided what is "normal"
@cd4259 And if you look thru history not ALL men did that..........so it was never "normal". ALL thru history there have been pedophiles and mass murderers too.......but just happening in history don't make it "normal">

If it makes you feel better then do it
You don't mention if you live alone, with someone, or with a family. Who would be hurt if you did wear a dress? Maybe a girl friend might be sympathetic and help you pick some things out. Maybe some bras, panties, stockings, heels and some skirts/tops and dresses.

@VeronicaJane hi Veronica thank you for your reply. I live with my wife who is now being very supportive of my needs to dress up and she sometimes helps. I have also explained to my children who are grown up in their twenties and they understand why I do what I do ❤️👗
Which was harder@CrossdressingDorothy, telling your wife or your children? You are fortunate she is supportive, and even helps you.
CrossdressingDorothy · 51-55, M
@VeronicaJane to be honest it was a difficult and nervous situation for me to speak to everyone but now that I have it’s making it a lot easier for me to speak to more of my family and friends

Nothing wrong with it

Therapy? Why? If you want to dress as a Princess, as a girl, then do it. I spent many years of my life trying to pretend it was just " a phase". It wasn't, it's the itch that can never be scratched. Just accept your need, and enjoy it.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
There are plenty of men who do that for various reasons. As long as you don't walk around looking vulgar or inappropriately sexual in public spaces, I don't see any problem.

I have been married for 50 years to a woman who knows I have a need to wear women's clothes, but she refuses to allow it. She wants her husband to be 100% man 100% of the time.
I only get to dress whenever she's away for a few days. Then I get to dress & live as my inner feminine side.
Everyone has a male side & a female side, it's just how they choose to manifest that could be a problem for some people.
If you like cooking - that's a feminine trait. The same with shopping.
There are women in construction & no one thinks anything of it!

Wear the dress. Don't stress yourself out over clothes. Life is hard enough without this issue
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
you are fine. We all have our little preferences
Strict4u · 56-60, M
Wear whatever makes you comfortable

Cross-dressing is very common, so don't think it something needing "therapy" that is anyway likely to be therapeutic only to the therapist's bank-balance.

Whether you need keep it discrete and within the privacy of your own home, as some cross-dressers do, is for you to decide; but you are by no means alone.

It does seem an urge that ebbs and flows over time, and I have heard of some men building up sizeable private wardrobes only suddenly to turn against it and get rid of the lot; but possibly inch back towards it again perhaps a few years later. Your experience may match that.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@ArishMell and if one could create the swap for ones turned in for ones that are needed, we have a great community service...someone in a small town can say, 'hey I used to wear that'...to someone in front of them at the donut shop
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@atlantic59 I like that idea!

Everyone seems to be hung up on clothing , who is to say what clothes you should put on your body ? Is it not your body? Are we to live our lives by what a few think is correct attire for everyone?

I think everyone should wear bellbottom pants and tank tops , hair should be shoulder length on one side and shaved on the other . Yep that’s the new style of 2024 .

Wear what you like it is on your body, you and you alone should have the say over your body.
Repete · 61-69, M
@ArishMell that’s about the size of it, always trying to be someone else by acting or dressing like them. It isn’t the clothes that makes the person usually.
anoderod55 · 61-69, M
@Repete Still have my bell bottom jeans . 👍
Repete · 61-69, M
@anoderod55 I like loose but bell bottoms are a little bit to much for me 😂
That’s exactly why we have different clothes to choose from, but they are only clothes.
If it makes you feel good do it. Spend the money on FEM CLOTHES instead of therapy.
Dressing and being a sissy in a lot better🥰
samanthaX · 41-45, T
@Submissiveiendencies I spend money on pretty feminine clothes most months 💋💋💋
anoderod55 · 61-69, M
I find a form of release . Have on occasion . Only at home . Good luck to you 🤞

Therapy for wearing fabric? A bit of overkill there. You can suppress it and be miserable or enjoy your life.

That'll be 5 cents please.
I think as long as your sign a donor card so when you die your balls can be donated to some one that can FINALLY use them and know what they are for........you can do what you want in life.
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@MaBalzEsHari every time I order balls on line I get an issue

[Additional thought] You don't mention if you live alone, with someone, or with a family. if you are with someone, you should discuss this with them. Secrets can be hurtful. If they are accepting of this, all the better for you and your relationship.
Technically, the desire is common enough to fall within the statistical definition of normal, so don't let the gaslighting get to you.
Anyone who wants to should wear a dress.. there should be a mens dress line imo
exchrist · 31-35
Im in upstate ny i doubt anyone would care. Its fine with me for example
