Why multiple accounts?

I’m getting slammed by someone I muted through his/her/their multiple SW accounts. Now I know one reason someone might have multiple accounts—stalking. Are there other reasons?

For me it was a worry that by some really odd chance, although is minimal, it's not impossible that someone from my real life could recognize me. At the beginning, I had no idea how far this website would reach and what demographic would it attract. I wanted to start here completely anonymously but that has really very limited options so I made this account to be more myself, more recognizable but also playing it safer.
I only use the first account to see some blocked comments in threads now.

To check to see who blocked you.

Years ago I created a second account. Never once posted anything from it. But I used it sometimes to see who had blocked me when I came across a comment I couldn't see.

I no longer care about being blocked so I haven't logged in with that account in a year or two. 🤷‍♀

@sarabee1995 I only ever really care when I see somebody responding, but I can't see to whom they are responding. I'm nosy that way.

@LordShadowfire Same. That's why I created my alt account so I could see who was on the other side of the chat. But like I said, I haven't bothered with it in ages.

First of all, I've only got one account. However, I can think of other reasons for having multiple accounts besides stalking, but they're not much better. Like if you wanted to drum up fake support in a post, you could reply to it favorably from another account. Or for catfishing, Or maybe you wanted to post something anonymously. In reddit it might be handy to have two accounts so you can be in NSFW subs without it costing you the ability to post in other subs

The different sides of someone’s personality.

The human mind is very complex and the person might not be accepted for who they really are.

To stalk.
To have fun with people.

No some people have successive accounts and that is sometimes scorned here. As if change were not a human trait.

these accounts are not trying to stalk

I use them for my alters.

Didn't realize they were alters at the time when I started doing that. It was only when @ItsMeMorgue showed up that I realized.

I have one based on a character I find amusing.

If you block & they make many accounts on the same IP Address, it's not possible for them to stalk.

Block is not an account but IP Address

@BiasForAction even if you block someone they can still interact with you on another account. Trust me I know for a fact. DM me for more

@BiasForAction isn't that a funny mentality to have? And I see it on both sides. It's as if they don't understand what it takes to win an election. The idea is to get people on your side, not push them away.

@MsSwan not you. 🤣

@NudasPriest why would you care at all about anyone you blocked?
@BiasForAction Sometimes they lie, which can affect other friendships.
