One of the dictionary’s. Maybe Miriam Webster or another one. It wasn’t really a priority, and you can google it yourself. @Crazychick

As you know there are hundreds of french words in the English language and there are Greek words as well.
English is not a pure language.
Dalmate is actually a french word, it is more used in the context of
la côte dalmate
The dalmatian coast and the people from the area are refered to as Dalmates and not dalmatians.

@2cool4school As you can see I gave up trying to educate once I came to the conclusion that she is obtuse.
There is another word for a question for her.

@Longleggedlady A wise move.
Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
@2cool4school same as the person I tried to explain to in Paris that he was saying eggs instead of egg because he was adding the s to the word and that the French start counting with their thumb as one, so if you hold up your index finger you are going to get two. He ended up with 4 eggs on each roll and two cups of coffee.

To hide by mixing in a crowd of similar looking people.
It would be better if you were to dalmate. You mustn't be discovered just yet. It would ruin our plans.

I don’t think you know what you’re doing online, but you really should try this website: www.google.com for information. It’s easy and free… (something I think you can relate to)
Perhaps it would be best for you to dalmate too… I know I’d enjoy it if you did!!

A Dalmate is someone who is a fan of the South Korean pop band, Dalmatian.

Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Ontheroad Oh, it's Italian, is it? That throws a completely different light on it. It won't even be pronounced the way I thought it was now.
Ontheroad · M
@Crazychick And it gets more interesting depending upon what source you use: https://www.wordsense.eu/dalmate/

Longleggedlady · 31-35, F
dalmate is a very old almost extinct way of say what Carissimi pointed out to hide in a group of similar looking people
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Longleggedlady It's not even listed in the dictionary as an obsolete word.
Carissimi · F
Does it matter that it’s not listed in the dictionary? You wanted to know what the verb “to dalmate” means. Now you know. Why get wrapped around the axle? Where did you hear this word if it’s not in the dictionary? @Crazychick
Midnightoker1 · 61-69, M
French..Dalmatian. ?
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Midnightoker1 How does "dalmate" connect with "Dalmatian"?
Midnightoker1 · 61-69, M
@Crazychick in French that is what it translates too ?
Crazychick · 36-40, F
@Midnightoker1 I did French in school between ages 11 and 16 and I never encountered that word. Our French teacher really was French and she liked us to call her Mademoiselle Tessier.
