@TexChik My uncle bought a 140 acre farm around the time of WWII. Couldn’t get enough gasoline to run a tractor and couldn’t get tires. Lived in northern Missouri and there was a very famous mule farm in the next county. He bought a pair of mules and plowed with those mules. Worked his butt off doing it. He said as soon as the announced the end of WWII the next day you could get whatever you needed. Ammunition for hunting. My grandpa burned them out on rabbits he hunted, they were overbreeding on the rural farms. He bought a good used tractor and other farm equipment piece by piece as he made money each year.
